Congratulations. This is absolutely the best 1080 around. That and with 5 year warranty, there is no reason to get another brand.

I have the founders edition under water and went specifically for the zotac for the extended warranty.

I love it, I'm excited to see how temps will hold up in SLI although they can be maintained with custom fan curves and such but still it'll be interesting as they'll basically be sandwiched unless I decide to put one GPU on the last slot.

I didn't know even their Founder's Edition had 5 years of warranty, I figured it was only for AMP! Extreme? Which cooling setup are you using to watercool them?

Last slot on your board is PCIe 3.0 x4 slot taking its lane from the chipset not from the CPU. Just in case, you should know ;)

Of course, that's a given. I was mentioning it casually since I only have the choice of second slot as it is x8 and not x4 itself, one can cope up with the temps but cannot sacrifice the lanes.
You asked me the same question about the SLI on 1080 a while ago on the same mobo, seems you forgot about it :p

Yes, All the Zotac 1080s have a five month warranty.
I have a custom watercooling loop. Have an ek block on the 1080, an xspc raystorm pro on my processor and xspc photon res pump combo with an ek 60mm triple radiator. My first go at watercooling and honestly it has been huge headache setting it up. My maximus viii gene died in the process because of a leak. My fault. But then the results are worth it in the end. The graphic card temp hasnt gone beyond 50C while playing games. And the system is dead silent.

Yikes, sorry to hear about the leak. And I think you meant five years warranty, not five months lol.
Anyways, glad you got it rocking now with those temps.

I absolutely love the new look of zotac's design language...Congratz
Thanks, mate. I didn't think I'd like the yellow as much but it looks great in-person and under RGB lights in the case it looks even better.

Congrats. Have safe gaming.
Thanks, man. Will make sure not to cross the road while gaming.

Q1 2017 is speculated, not a sure thing yet. Albeit if that happens, I'll drop the SLI in December and get 1080 Ti instead but if it's anywhere in Q3-Q4 2017 then I'll just SLI my 1080 AMP! Extreme

most probably will come out or avaliable locally by end feb 2017
Jayz has tested three way SLI for pascal based cards and has shown that only 2 way sli config is supported regardless. Quad may not be an option any further.

Doubt for that to happen but I'm all for it really, if anything I won't have to SLI my 1080 and directly jump upon 1080 Ti instead.
Will import it again this time around probably, depending on the situation I might won't have enough time to wait long until stock becomes available locally.

NVIDIA was going to go with 3-Way and 4-Way SLI only via 'enthusiast key' but they ditched plans for it and only supports that in specific apps. So anything in games and what not aren't going to happen beyond 2-Way SLI.
I'm glad they did this though, it has always been a waste. So if you cannot utilize something properly, might as well not give support for it.

Yeah but it won't be dropping the prices like it did for 9xx series when 10xx launched, lol. It'll go down a bit though, but nothing major ... it'll be just like usual business.
