I'm still on the fence about the iPad Pro or the Surface Pro 4...
Those two aren't even in the same league. One is a Full windows PC with the added benefit of tablet functionality, the other is a huge iPod with a glorified mobile OS.

brother knowing that you are an apple lover like me well my two cents see what suits and satisfy your needs. for me its mostly consuming netflix streaming sites apple music etc etc and some imovies editing so iPad pro is the perfect device for me. and regarding surface book or whatnot it has its pros but huge shares of cons as well. so do dig out the reviews n see what suits ya.
regards

I have an iPad Air 2 and I have used an iPod. I have no idea what nonsense you just said.

You're taking it too literally.

SP4:
- Is full windows PC
- Can plug in USB devices without any adaptors
- Can use it to professionally edit videos and animations - good luck encoding a heavy video project on the pansy arm processor!
- Much more intuitive multitasking experience compared to iPad Pro. Multitasking on iPad Pro is a b!tch - and no, split screen multitasking doesn't count.
- Allows you to run any program in the background (i.e. true multitasking) - doesn't arbitrarily freeze backgrounded apps (though the 4gb RAM may have alleviated the issue). I'm basing this on my experience with the iPhone. iOS actually cuts off the wifi connection for apps running in background 6 minutes after locking the screen.
- Pro photoshop use - not the gimped app iOS has
- Compatibility with legacy windows software
- Full fledged office ecosystem
- Allows the user to run any windows software without any walled garden (i.e. no jailbreak required!)
- Allows you to use various complex statistical tools and mathematical simulation software.
- Allows you to let the computer function as a server (file, video (with transcoding! - haha gimped iPad hardware), etc) - good luck trying to do that with the iPad as it cuts off wifi connection for apps after 6 minutes (yes i've tried - only solution is jailbreak)
- allows you to backup my phone to the pc.

And there are probably many more reasons why the SP4 isn't comparable to an iPad Pro. Let's be serious now.

You can edit 3 simultaneous 4K videos on the iPad Pro. You can't do that on a Core i7 Surface Pro 4. Like I said before, I've no idea where you're getting your information from.

The "edit 3 simultaneous 4K videos" is meaningless marketing speak from Apple. What that statement is claiming is that you can use iMovie to add, decompress, edit and add filters to 3 different 4k clips at once - something any NLE worth its salt on windows can do (with more sophistication, I might add) and most have multicam support too (which the iPad is not capable of doing). So yes, the SP4 can definitely do that.

There might be a disconnect between my understanding of video editing and yours - i'm assuming the video editing you have in your mind to mean editing done by the lowest denominator (i.e. beginners editing their gopro footage). Yes, the iPad pro can do that obviously. The video editing i'm talking about involves multiple tracks and layering and compositing - something that requires pro software (and iMovie doesn't count - it doesn't even allow multiple tracks).

I haven't even gone into the hardware limitations in video editing on the iPad pro.

You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
