Congrats man, awesome display. A bit over-kill, no? :p

Why not the UHD displays? Must need some serious GPU power to run the newer more demanding games.

Thanks bro :) I doubt it's considered a bit overkill ... yet lol. I've been wanting to put 6 monitors same size, same model all together stacked on top of each other but haven't gotten around to find something that I can call "perfect" plus I don't like to do gaming in surround those bezels put me off entirely.
So in future I'll replace the other 2 monitors with other 4K monitors too, at least when Windows 10 is released.

I don't understand what you mean by "Why not the UHD displays?" - The new one I got, the thread it is for .. it's a 4K Display aka UHD (Ultra High Definition.) and yes it requires serious GPU power so I'm hoping 970 in SLI can perform well until updated 900 Series is out or something, still deciding though so we'll see what happens. Rest assured, I'll keep you guys updated :p

Trust me, I wanted to ... was so much back and forth between this and the ROG Swift one which is like orgasmic awesomness for a gamer but I didn't buy this for the gaming purpose mainly and I really wanted to try 4K as well so settled with this :p

Yeah the upgraded 900 series should have 8GB of VRAM aka Ti versions most likely also the new AMD 300 series looks ground breaking but I have yet to see the results properly to make up my mind, it's definitely gonna be few months for sure so I'll most likely just SLI the 970 I think.

Except for the games, i guess there isn't much content available in 4K as per my knowledge. Hence my references..

Haven't looked much into AMD cards recently. But i'm sure AMD won't be far behind. Though i'm of the opinion AMD cards are better VFM. Especially with all the discounts now. However 970 SLI is future proof if you intend to keep it.

I intend to sell my SLI setup when ready for either 900 Series Ti versions or the AMD 300 (rumor has it that card might have over 4,000 bits instead of 512 bit and all) so if that's actually true and all .. I'm definitely getting me one of those!
Games are available on 4K, they've always been. Even the years old games are available on 4K as long as we're talking PC gaming. It's just the other content such as TV Shows, Movies etc that's a pain. Otherwise stuff like games are available far beyond 4K :)

Yeah I guess it won't be long now. They will be coming out soon..

Exactly, that's why my initial thoughts were that you got the monitor for gaming as other content isn't available as of yet(in 4K) [emoji14]

Congrats man. Great unboxing with LOADS of details. (y)
Thanks, mate. That's what I was going for so anyone trying to put it next to their 1080p monitors can know how it'll be like :)

(DJ) congrats, that really is a nice purchase. purchased from Pak or imported
Haha, thanks bro. I bought it from UK that's why it ended up costing me double the price of what it would've been in USA considering it's $200 less in USA and no VAT there. :)

Allah pak Mubarak kery @UmerF bhai..

how much did u paid for this 4k led and warranty ??

im also thinking to get this : Galaxy ....Samsung LED 23" High Glossy BLACK WIDE SCREEN

what u say abt this led ?? my main purpose is movie watching and gaming only.. for this i have to connect with my lptp hdmi to hdmi .. got my point ??
Thanks, mate. I got it from UK so I ended up paying approx $1k and warranty is international as well not local.

I'm confused if that's whether 23" or 27" cause the link takes me to 27" but the text in your message says 23" - However that's a nice monitor but I'd go with something that has more features like pivot mode and all, like the one in my pics on very right. Samsung S27C750P but since you're only about gaming and watching and it'll be only one monitor then you don't need pivot mode and all and thus that LED you picked whether 23" or 27" both are great. 27" is great but I prefer big size LEDs like that to have more than 1080p resolutions but I've been using 27" 1080p monitor my self from Samsung and it's quite good. I had some panel issue right after my purchase from Galaxy but I kept using it as I wasn't using it much it was just sitting there I never noticed that issue with it but it had ghosting issue, LED backlit then I had to claim my warranty before it expires and then they repaired the monitor and now I've been using and it's all good without any issue.

I love the design of that monitor and price is also very nice because the 27" I paid for was nearly 50k and that was from Galaxy too just about a year ago. So I say go for it but make sure once you receive it or to make sure to check it on the shop before buying for it's ghosting issue or dead pixels or whatever as it's very common in monitors and they don't claim warranty for only one dead pixel there are different warranties by different manufactures for different standards so be careful otherwise good luck with that one :)

Congrats Bro. Killer Screen.

You could have bought it from a retailer which supports Retail Export Scheme so you can claim VAT Refund. I was in the UK myself a month ago and bought some PC stuff for my ITX Build from scan.co.uk who gave me signed VAT Refund Forms and I applied for VAT Refund at Manchester Airport. At Heathrow you can get cash straight away at the counter as well. After VAT deduction the prices are in line with the US Prices.

Thanks a lot, bro.

Ahh my uncle was suggesting me something like that but I don't think I could find anyone with good rate anyway. Scan.co.uk had it at about over 100 GBP higher as well as other vendors. I got it from OCUK and I don't think they offer that but I'll keep that in mind. I also make a payment from my PayPal which is US based and many vendors do not accept that online; US based PayPal are rejected at majority of vendors in UK so even with OCUK I ended up paying with my US based credit card anyway.

But thanks though, I'll keep that in mind for future purchases from UK and hopefully I can benefit from this. It'll really be handy ;)

good purchase and all but thumbs up for having counter strike on your desktop...
Hahahaha, maaaaaan. I tried to play that game last night on 4K, got my ass whooped lolol. It was like after such a long time and on 4K it was totally different, the sensitivity and everything including the crosshair that I like to keep it small it was acting funny plus I bought that game on Steam recently so the settings weren't my usual, I'll have to get it all setup and then try that again. I just wanted to see CS 1.6 in all it's glory in 4K :D
