If I have to describe this ASUS router in a summary I would just say WOW..excellent performance, features and extremely good looking..indeed a "Black Diamond" :wink2:

Key Features
  • 2.4GHz and 5GHz dual band transmissions enable faster, more secure high-speed connections
  • True gigabit throughput delivers up to five times faster speeds than conventional routers
  • Up to 300,000 sessions to Internet clients for more stable, high-speed connections
  • EZ User Interface (EZ UI) with a simple 3-step setup gets you up and running within minutes
  • EZ Quality of Service (EZQoS) Bandwidth Management gives you a simple way to optimize Internet speeds for gaming, browsing, file sharing, and VoIP/ media streaming
  • Built-in printer server for sharing All-in-One USB printers within your home or office
  • AiDisk is your personal FTP server that you can access anywhere you have the Internet
  • Download Master lets you download from the Bit Torrent site to the connected USB storage device directly through the router without having to leave your PC on
  • Ai Radar automatically detects the location of clients and pin-points the signal to the client for effective and efficient transmissions

I will let the pictures do the talking..

Thanks everyone!

Bought this from amazon..after tax and same day courier shipping..the total cost I paid is PKR.13,200/-

The router is pretty small..check the picture with CD and compare the size..

The price is on the higher side but its future proof with a/b/g/n standards, 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz signals at once (most routers broadcast only one band at a time), excellent performance, signals cover a huge area..usb ports can be used to connect printer and external storage, storage can be used for dlna streaming, storage can be used as a centralized NAS with users/permissions..etc etc etc..totally worth it IMHO :)

Congrats nice purchase ... Very Sleek and stylish design! Pretty expensive too. But not future proof as routers with 802.11ac are coming.

Thanks!

I looked at those routers too but I skipped them as none of my wifi enabled devices (3rd gen i7 laptop, ip4s, gs3, acer iconia tab, xbox360, psp, etc) have 802.11ac..looking at how technology is evolving these days..2-3 years is considered future proof and I don't see 802.11ac making it to major devices in that period..5Ghz N existed for some years now but only this year we have seen gs3 with 5ghz N support..

nothing's future proof, if it suits his need then sure it is for him.

P.S 802.11ac is already out though without reasonable client end adapters it's all B.S.

@OP congrats it's still topping the simultaneous routing throughput chart.

the only down side is its Ralink Chip for which wrt community show no love.

No technology is fool proof these days and 802.11ac products will not become common before 2016 in Pakistan, moreover it will only be useful if you have a high speed broadband (which is not the case in Pakistan) plus you are living in a very big house.

I had this Asus router, it's indeed a very good in performance (was using virgin 50MBps connection on it)
