Troubleshooting Vonage In Pakistan

Assalam u Alaikum
A friend has brought his Vonage device to Pakistan. Now the problem is that he is able to receive calls on it but he is not able to make calls. Bell goes but when attended there is no voice. A friend abroad is saying that we have to open ports on the PTCL router and keep the IP address on dhcp permanent for Vonage. Any help would be highly appreciated.

My understanding is that PTCL has blocked some ports on the vonage device. I experience the same thing using the vonage device. I can receive calls but outgoing calls are almost always dropped before even connecting.

Did you happen to find a solution yet? Btw I've been using vonage for over a year on nayatel without problem. PTCL gives problems.

Ptcl does not work with Vonage devices. I have worldcall and Vonage runs great at my end since 2007.
