So as the title suggests i'm thinking of a gap year after i complete my A levels this summer.I need to know why i should or why i shouldn't take a gap year.Main reason i'm thinking of a gap year is that i am not ready for university yet mentally and a year off would give me chance to relax after a tough year. And also will it affect my university applications(negatively) if i take a gap year??

I'm still in O Levels, but I don't think taking a gap year would be a good idea. Dude, you can relax and all in a week. I don't think you'd want to relax for 365 days knowing that all your friends are in University and will get out of there, and get jobs, before you. You'll simply lag behind. Right now, as you're studying, your mind is adapted to it. If you take a year off, I don't think you'll be able to study very well when you go to Uni. It ruins the tempo and will take time to get back on track.

So, don't.

NO!

A gap year will simply ruin your education and life as in general.

Your entire life will be pushed back one year behind.

Furthermore, you're going to drain yourself of everything you've learned in that one lazy year.

You do NOT want that in your life.

A Year is far too long a time to just relax.Take a wekk or two off, like compeltely off.Don't do anything and then go back to your life.Trust me you'll start getting bored after just a week or two.

A Gap Year is just too much. When we start University, we won't have time to rest. I mean i am studying for the past 4 years and since i study in a Uni far away from home, i barely stay at home. It is exhausting, i know. But i won't ever think of a Gap year. Like many people have said, try relaxing for a week or so. See if you get bored or not.

Take a Gap Year if you are doing something in it, don't take it doing nothing and just sitting on ur a**. Do something good, i.e do some course, learn programming etc.

Yar when you're applying to a university you do get a disadvantage for gaps. I think they cut your percentage i suppose. But I'm definite that they do use it against you.

I took a gap year after school. Contrary to popular thinking, it does NOT ruin your life/academics or anything. But you should have a valid reason for doing so. "Rest" is not good enough a reason. If you plan to go to some other country, or work somewhere for a year then you may consider it. Otherwise, its not a good idea. Taking a gap year after university though, is a very good idea. But not after school, b/c you are too young to do much right now.

Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
