That's over 30 hours (possibly around 40) of additional story-driven gameplay. You still have the other sixteen-piece add-on DLC which will be released for free on a weekly basis.

That's a major difference between CDPR and 'other' publishers who sell the add-on content like weapons, costumes, and other crap you shit in the morning, for money.

CDPR has also never really stated previously that it doesn't believe in NO DLC. It stated that it doesn't believe in the DLC practice which is currently rampant and if they do decide on a DLC, it would have content that matched the price. Around 40 hours of gameplay is pretty good I believe.

Corporate greed strikes at CDPR!
I think that's an unfair thing to say if you consider how greedy other devs are when it comes to DLC. Naughty Dog, one of my favorite devs charges for guns etc. for The Last of Us. That is something I'd say is unfair especially since the Remastered version should not charge extra for weapons etc. On top of that, there are no weapon packs (since the last time I checked) and you have to pay approx. $0.50 for each weapon you buy for the multiplayer.

Anyways back on topic, saw the first 15 mins of TW3 and this is a definitive Day 1 purchase for me. Enjoyed every second of that video. The map looks pretty bland though.

I don't mind paying for premium quality extra content, like undead nightmare was for red dead. But downloading this will presumably be a huge hassle :(

CDPR's modesty is on another level. We already know that, technically, expansions are the equivalent of full games provided that they progress the main storyline. I'm sure TW3's expansions will also, at the very least, offer greater insight into its intricate and multi-tiered plot. They're essentially underselling TW4 as an expansion to TW3.
Contrary to what you'd like to believe, this is hardly the same situation. These expansions aren't a direct continuation of the story after the events of TW3.

Just saw the trailer. Daym the entire game invites you to play, and it joins you as you join in! That's the difference between Witcher and 'other' RPGs like (not to spark a fire) Skyrim, Dragon Age inquisition etc. I haven't played skyrim so I wont comment, but DAI I have played. And as beautiful and breathtaking and marvelous this game is, the story is empty. I tried diving in, but couldn't find enough depth. I took side quests but just skipped every single dialogue. Cuz I know it doesn't have any impact on the game. the side quests are just for me to level up, nothing more. But Witcher side quests. They add story. make you live the world. You can't miss out these stories within this greater story.

The best part about Witcher 3 is that new comers won't get confused that much as compared to previous games.
CDPR said it themselves that we will allow new players to keep up with the story line. I'm pretty sure that they will explain almost everything.
This June-July will be epic. I'm gonna aim to completing the whole game 100% even though that sounds impossible, considering the side quests and the amount of shit we have to do xD
Hunting will be epic and the combat already seems so fluid and perfect. Witcher 3 deserves GOTY
