Guys I have a ps3 slim (120gb I guess) which I bought from dubai when it was first launched (more than a year back). Till now I have played it only once for 3 mins and it is lying packed still. During all this time, made alot of plans to start using this console but got busy in job, business and then studies. Now I am finally free from my exams and now I want to start gaming again. I was thinking about buying some games especially GT5, NFS and a couple of FPS but then I saw here that there is some sort of hack available for PS3 and that we can download games to HD and connect it to PS3 which would mean no more spending 3-4k/game. I am noob when it comes to all these technical matters. I searched a bit on the net and it seems I need to have a particular firmware for the hack to work.

1)Can you guys tell me how I can find the firmware of my PS3 slim? Or can you guys guess considering I bought it from dubai in the month it was first launched internationally?
2)What is this hack all about? Is it safe? Any drawbacks?
3)What are other requirements? e.g. what sort of HD do I need? What is the transfer and playing procedure?
4)How can I download games? I have a 2mb internet connection and I am a member of BCG and various other rare trackers so will these be enough for me?

1) U need Official Firmware 3.55, u can find it easily on internet.
2) Yes it's safe to hack PS3, draw back is the risk of getting banned from PSN.
3) U need both internal & external HDD as some games only run on external. U can transfer from either original BD, from pc (if u downloaded from internet) via ftp or from external hdd.
4) From torrents & file sharing sites.

What firmware are the new PS3 Slims coming with? Are they jailbreakable?

It's possible if u r buying from Pakistan.

I recently got a new ps3 120gb slim with 1 game i dont wanna play onlines games sooooooo i wanna Jailbreak it so please help me that after Jailbreak how to transfer the games on to my PS3 I heard it was possible to transfer games using a USB stick or external hard disk on PS3 tell me plz this :

2 Is there any special software like torrent or IDM to download games from internet

3 how to Transfer it on my PS3

4 Then how to Install it on my PS3

2 U need utorrent, idm & mega manager.

3 From ftp or external hdd.

4 It's very easy to install, not all games r required to install in PS3.

I have a PS3 60GB FAT and it is Hacked with firmware 3.55. I am planning to upgrade the internal HDD to 500GB.

My question is whether 1) I would need to reinstall MULTIMANAGER again or not 2) Should I buy External HDD or Internal HDD

I would be glad if you help me.

1) I think u would be need to install again even hacking but it's easy & fast process so don't worry.
2) Yes it's recommended to have an external hdd so that u can backup all ur ps3 data then can be restored later in ur new hdd.

Possible. Just get an enclosure for the 60gb drive. You will have to format you 60gb to fat32 to allow ur ps3 to recognize it (as external), so back up all the data first

usually ps3 jb games have one folder named BLUSxxxx nd we have to place tht foldre in x:GAMEZ\BLUSxxxx

but there two mention above games have 2 folder nd 1 files liked

1. PS3_GAME (folder)
2. PS3_UPDATE (folder)
3. PS3_DISC.sfb (file)

so wht to do wid these folder ...

Nothing. Just put that one big folder blusxx or blesxx in either GAMES or GAMEZ folder (depending on which gaia pkg file u installed in ur ps3).

Get the newest 160gb or 320gb. They are your safest bets. Look for model number CECH-25XXX where XXX can be any number/letter

its on ntfs partition which can not be use in ps3 i guess
soo i ve tried to format tht into fat32 in xp but was un successfull
thn i ve downloaded HP USB storage format tool 2.8v for tht
when i ve finished formattin tht thn it shows tht only 174 gb is free nd all da rest is in used besides there are no files in tht external hard drive cox i ve just formatted it ....

any solution guyz ??

once i formatted my 4 gb flash drive using HP USB storage format tool, and after formatting, and i saved some files and i ejected my flash and when i reconnected it, data capacity was 0 bytes..this tool eats space up, in my case it ate my whole flash drive....i am now not able to format it using any tool. usb is dead now, i have claimed a replacement because it had 5 years of warranty.

i have a samsung BX2331 lcd monitor attached PS3 thru HDMI cable.. everything is superb but da main problem dat arises is of sound.. as this monitor does not have any built in speakers.. so i plugged in my computer speakers but da sound is very low in games.. i want sum portable solution for da sound.. pls suggest me a cheap and easy portable solution for it!!
