i still have my onic sim that i want to port to ufone but i cant send any sms for network porting from onic without activating a plan first
You can. I ported without subscribing to any plan. Here's a brotherly advice: Don't port to Ufone directly from Onic. First, port to another network and then port to Ufone. It will be smooth, free, and hassle-free. Just send an SMS to 667 and forward it to the desired network code. After that, you can collect a free SIM from any franchise or retailer by paying the SIM replacement charges – that's it.
However, if you port to Ufone directly, the procedure is very different. First, inform Onic that you want to port to Ufone. They will ask about your nearest PTCL-Ufone combined office. Then, they will switch off your number from their network and instruct you to go to that PTCL-Ufone office to collect your SIM. Upon reaching the office, they will ask you to wait for half an hour as they need to obtain approvals by sending emails, including the process to unauthorized your number from your CNIC. After that, they will issue you a Ufone SIM of same number as a new sim sale, charging Rs. 300 as SIM charges. If your number falls under a special category, they may also charge special number charges based on their system costs. Now, it's up to you to decide what you want.
