So nice.

Pony up some monies, people, then we'll talk. Oh, and who knows what the installation costs, and the consistency of the speeds (given it's a beta). And for the astronomers, they'll see lots of space pollution. Not that it matters to any non-space junkie, but it is how it is (good or bad, you decide).

And I'm sure PTA would not authorize it unless they can filter traffic and block stuff as part of the Digital Pakistan initiative.

Cynicism aside, it'll be a boon for places with craptastic infrastructure, poor 4G, DSL and fiber connectivity. But how many of those areas have income levels which can support such prices, I have no idea.

Still a good thing though that Starlink is interested in Pakistan.

Comparison of Jazz to Jazz voice calls, over 3G and then over VoLTE.

3G, with good signal strength used the AMR-WB codec with a bitrate of 12.65 kbits/s.

Spoiler: show

VoLTE, also using AMR-WB with a bitrate of 23.85 kbits/s.

Spoiler: show

Compared to using VoLTE abroad, Jazz calls sound good, but not great and the connection time still feels slower despite the calls being on the same network.

Also, the second I arrived back in Pak, I automatically got an SMS saying VoLTE has been subscribed on your number.

However, two of my family members (who have supported devices) haven't received the message and the VoLTE toggle doesn't do anything on their phones. So it seems like VoLTE is only working on newer issued SIMs, since the two phones where it doesn't work have SIMs that are quite old (from pre-merger with Warid days).

6ms ping? That's not right. LTE's latencies are higher (the lowest you could get is 13ms, and that's a statistical anomaly) - the lowest, more common ping I've seen is 14ms.

5G has around 9ms or so (from the speedtests I've seen abroad). Fiber can do 6ms, so can VDSL (if you're lucky), but not 4G.

Anyway.

Then this must be a speed test error. Or maybe Ufone selected Fiberlink server.

I'd rather the operators focus on getting their network blackspots fixed than launching orange/red/blue/green ads promoting data packages which don't work in those black spots.

And also, they need to get VoLTE up and running - Telenor only supports a handful of devices, Jazz supports a handful of devices on some connections... we don't care about low budget 4G phones which people won't use because they won't pay for data. Or - at least get those devices to use 4G for calls if you want everyone to move over to 4G.

Yesterday I was using my friend's phone (Techno). Dialed number on Zong. HD call was written below number. I think Zong is testing its VOLTE service.

Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
