I thought it was a hassle too, but I'm actually enjoying having root again.

Not passing SafetyNet isn't bothering me very much since I don't rely on DRM for Netflix, Google Pay or any other apps that require CTS to pass.

I've hidden root from Jazz World since that crashes immediately if you launch it while rooted, and other than that everything else works just fine.
Strange, i got root, and not hiding it even and never got jazz app crash even once on me [emoji848]

PTAs frequency allocation table hasn't been updated in ages and there has been some spectrum shuffling since then.

I put together an updated one. Thanks to manobilla for the Zong 4G EARFCN details.

If you guys find any mistakes or anything missing, please let me know since I'm sure there will be some differences in available frequencies in different areas.

Just like I thought, 256 QAM stays enabled during heavy use / downloading if the signal quality is good. SINR of 20 dB and above.

NSG showed speeds of between 120-140 Mbps while a download was running, and it peaked at 172 Mbps down. Very impressive.

I always felt the speeds mentioned in the app were overstated and perhaps the theoretical speeds for those conditions.

Try conducting a speed test in those conditions and paste back here.

Is there any app which can tell mobile is connecting to LTE-A services or simple LTE without root on qualcomm device? shaheerk murtaza12

You can try the app suggested by shaheerk, or see if the *#*#4636#*#* menu can be opened on that device.

At the bottom of that menu it shows different LTE cells that you're connected to.

It does not

It doesn't show the exact band number, but it shows EARFCN which is even more precise.

You can use this app to calculate the band based on the EARFCN:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lteapps.earfcncalculator

Alternatively you can use CellMapper's calculator (make sure to set it to LTE):

https://www.cellmapper.net/arfcn

OR just use the app shaheerk mentioned, it automatically converts the detected cells EARFCN values to their respective band numbers.

In your screenshot it's showing 1818 which is Jazz's 20 MHz block of B3 and 2425 which is Telenor's 5 MHz block of B5.

This app does not show LTE-A status but switches LTE band after every second between band 3 and band 5. Check the video

The switching between B3 and B5 is just your phone deciding which band to use for Telenor.

It will only reliably show LTE-A status if you're connected to mobile data.

Even so, there can be some errors because the app doesn't work perfectly on all devices.

Also, when you're in *###4636#*#, you need to ensure the refresh is changed to "Immediate" (it's disabled in your screenshot). The same screen sometimes tells you if you're connected to two bands or not (it does on the Pixel) near the upper-middle portion.

Usually, these apps are only as reliable as the phone reporting the data. Also, have you expired the app's settings? Default should work fine but maybe you need to toggle an option ("use core" or something like that).

Otherwise, there's not much you can do if your phone isn't reporting the data.

Check this. Wgat does this means?

It's showing available cells of 2G, 3G and 4G.

On the top of the screenshot where it says Refresh Rate, change that to 'Immediate' so that it updates constantly.
