]Why Jazz's download frequency is in 1800 range and Zong's in 1500 range? Should not both be in 1800?

Sent from my SM-A505F using Tapatalk
That's just EARFCN value.

1597 EARFCN means 1844.7 MHz (downlink) and 1749.7 MHz (uplink).

In your case, Jazz has not done spectrum shuffle in FSD yet since they're still using old EARFCN of 1836 which means 1868.6 / 1773.6 MHz.

In RWP/ISB, they're using EARFCN 1818 which is 1866.8 / 1771.8 MHz.

I use this app to calculate frequency based on EARFCN:

For me jazz is on top, Lol I dunno what's wrong with fsd

Eh. Sometimes, if there are trees or concrete or some other things interfering with the signals between you and the tower, then things can go south. But for me, generally speaking, Jazz is on top. That extra boost in the download speeds help when surfing heavy websites, otherwise, most websites don't need more than 300Kb/s, which even 3G can provide.

Popped in my Zong sim after a really long time. Subscribed their Day time offer bundle. And compared the speed of both while sitting in my lawn. (i am on a sick leave today; so time pass, [emoji28].)

The result is this that Zong is still rulling in Faisalabad and Jazz 4G here is competing with Ufone' 3G. Both sims were getting very similar signals. Jazz was on 15 MHz and Zong was on 20 MHz (No CA)

Jazz 4G

Spoiler: show

Zong 4G

Not sure why you're getting a different downlink frequency, but does it stay the same way when you're outside of your specific tower's coverage area?

How about standing line of sight to the zong tower and still not be able to get more than 2 Mbps, now that's some concern,

That just means the tower is overloaded.

I faced this issue in Nathia Gali over the weekend - I was literally standing next to the tower, -51dBm, and speeds weren't over 0.2Kbps.

Complained to them, and it improved to around 2Mbps - but still not proper.

When I moved to the other side of the antenna (but still connected to the same tower - just w different radio), speeds improved considerably.

Zong has this problem, due to extreme bleeding edge packages I guess, since everyone is abusing zong's network, but jazz don't seem to get affected by these

Or it could be overloaded. That specific directional antenna could be overloaded. Or not tweaked properly.

Cause Mobilink tweaked it overnight at Nathia Gali and there was an improvement - just not enough - for the directional antenna I was connected to.

Yes, these are not tweaked, since overloading only occurs at peak times, zong doesn't seem to maintain their network good, that's why it is mostly shit for me.

The power of band 8 4G:

No carrier aggregation took place - I was in a specific spot where band 3 signals were weak, and band 8 were decent.

Now, if they'd only launch VoLTE... And implement band 8 4G everywhere as well.

Jazz's internal Network optimization is on point, take example of below speed test which is done in this peak time of 8 pm, with half bars & the test server is jazz Lahore which is 871 km away from me, still you can see the speed and latency, That's some quality.

After countless complaints to Jazz there was speed cap of 8 Mbps on my Jazz sim which Jazz never acknowledged and kept saying me that there is no such limit on my number and I am getting full possible speed from connected tower.

I was using Monthly Super Duper Offer of Rs 600 plus Monthly extreme 5 GB 2 AM-2PM offer of Rs 119.

My colleague was using Monthly Super Duper Plus offer and He was getting speed almost 3 times more than mine at same place, same time by connecting to same tower even with same phone Galaxy A50.

Yesterday my package was expired, so today I also sibscribed Super Duper Plus offer and here it is. I have suddenly started Jazz 3G and 4G speed 3 times more than what I was previously getting at my house before.

Jazz have a calling issue. Call drops to 2G from 3G within seconds. And 2G call quality is pathetic. And why speed cap for one monthly package and not for the expensive one?

Speedcaps are good, they ensure network availability, not like zong's when you can not even browse the web

If you want unlimited speed come on postpaid or buy expensive plans, as simple as that

I can still get cheap data and brtter 4G speed than Jazz on Zong in Faisalabad. Zong is just love in Faisalabad.

Then it's great for you, sadly even if zong has the most towers, they are heavily overloaded, and plus packages don't accumulate remaining resources and data drains very fast

Exactly this what people need to understand, they prioritize service for corporate persons who actually have important calls unlike wasting data on facebook/youtube and calling their gf`s all night long. I switched to postpaid around 4 years ago and never looked back.

Yeah dude, we should just stop being cheap and pay a little more to get supreme service that's the corporate rule.

You guys are missing something while defending speedcap. Which is information of cap. World wide mobile companies cap speed but they announce that this package will be capped and this package will get unlimited speed. So people choose according to their need.

Why will some one opt for an expensive package when he is getting pathetic speed on low price package? When he does not know he can get extra speed after spending extra money. I was suffering low quality Jazz services without knowing about this cap. I lodged countless complaints and they always said speed is ok and never acknowledged that speed is capped at packages I am using.

Now tell me who is the culprit?
