Thanks to all the participants for creating this thread and providing valuable input regarding the performance of 3G/4G networks at different locations.
I've been using telenor 3G for quite some time and was getting on an average 1.5Mbps download speed. Although it was enough to remain online while roaming around but i was unhappy about the download speed. Then i switched to Mobilink 3G and download speed reached 5Mbps. It was a pretty decent speed for my daily tasks including heavy email attachments. But there was one issue that put me off and it was the vast difference between Mobilink data counter and my cell phone data counter. Mobilink was showing 60% more usage than my cell phone (on a 2GB package) which could be due to some minimum data block size but i am not sure.

Long story short, after reading this thread i decided to switch to Zong 3G as people were posting pretty good results here and now i am a happy camper :)
Usually i get download speed of 4.5Mbps and occasionally it goes above 10Mbps. Fortunately and to my surprise, data counter of Zong and my cell phone are almost in sync which is a great relief for me :)

Good to know about ur experiance and tks for sharing.

Shifted from ufone to zong and so far very satisfied with their service and 3G.

Have little signal issues in basments and some places where mobilink and warid gives good signals so they should improve that first but over all zong is good.

Has anyone noticed huge battery drain on 3G? I mean, it's great and all but it sucks my battery dry in an hour or two which kind of defeats its purpose as compared to WiFi.

yes 3g consumes much more power then 2g or wifi . but 1 or 2 hour is very less , which mobile do you have ? normally on 3g use a mob gives 4-5 hours and on standby it gives 18 hrs with 3g on and all notifications coming in.

I have an S3 (i9300)..I've always had battery problems with it. Not sure whether it's from the network (Ufone) or the phone itself not suitable here. Cell standby is always on the top even when it's having full signals. I've modified the phone with ROMS & kernels but to no avail. Anyone else have this issue?
Eid Mubarak btw!

To add to your post with regards to the data counter, Warid's data counter and android built-in data counter aren't in sync either, Warid counts usage around 30-40% more than what the built-in android counter reports.

P.s if I remember correctly, Telenor's data usage counter counted data usage correctly as well.

Yes, i tested 4G lte @ faisal town and was getting 25Mbps down 10Mbps up with 2-3 signals. Was pretty satisfied with speeds but coverage is patchy and in selected areas only.

Hey guy I have two questions.
Is there zong 4g network in johar town, lhr?

And my phone supports LTE bands 1 and 5 i.e. LTE 850/2100
But zong is band 3 i.e. 1800Mhz
A different variant of my phone uses those bands.
Can I do something on my phone so that I get could use zong 4g?
