Playstation Suggestions required from respected PG members

Salam to all brothers.
I have been out of gaming since 2012 when I sold my Xbox 360 and PS3. Since then I have been only playing casually on other's (friends) consoles or just getting satisfaction by watching games walkthroughs on YouTube.

Now after almost 10 years of being unable to afford any gaming console or PC, I finally have some extra bucks and planning to buy a console.

I need suggestions from you guys on what should I go for. XBOX? PS4? (by the way looking to buy used one)

I do have 2 kids now and i want them to play as well.

SHould i go for a used PS4 official or Jailbreak?

Whats are the cons and pros of jailbreaked PS4? please help

Xbox or playstation - depends on the exclusives games you like more

Playstation 4 and Xbox one are a generation old now and will stop receiving games after a few years, the latest generation consoles are Playstation 5 and the Xbox Series X/S ( S being the low-cost lower powered digital version)

Personally I would suggest if you have no interest in ps4 exclusives and ps5/series X are a bit too expensive for you, get the series S


Keep in mind that the series is a all digital only console, meaning no disk drive, so you'll have to get your games digitally. However if purchasing games is out of your reach than I would suggest purchasing a gamepass subscription along side with the series S.
