Playstation Suggestions required for buying a PS3

Salam Everyone,

As the title says, im planning to a ps3... im an xbot butt butt buttt THE LAST OF US! enuf said.
I have no idea about the console hardware i got a max range of 20k was wondering to get a used hacked one, i was browsing and found the super slim vesrion to be ultra cheap with 320 to 500gig HDD, i am totally shocked why they r so cheap> whats the deal
my main requirement is to play game directly from internal/external hard drive and is it possible to play online with a hacked console?
which one should i buy? fat one which may die on me with YLOD, slim version which is uberly expensive or the super slim version.
Need help from the experts.

Custom FirmWare hacked slim is better. The super slim can only be hacked through hardware ODE which itself costs about 12k plus you would have to buy an external hdd which nowadays is only available in 500GB and would cost you about 6k. So even if you are getting a super slim model cheaper, you would have to spend about 18k to get it hacked. A used super slim(non-hacked) costs around 20k to 22k these days so after hacking it would cost a total of nearly 40k. On the other hand the CFW hacked slim version costs about 23k to 25k but thats it and you're good to play pirated games from hard drive. Fat version is not recommended at all.

And your question about online gameplay. On the CFW ps3 you cannot go online. If you do, your console will get banned from psn, even if you are using a legit game. On the ps3 hacked with ODE, you can only play online with legit games as playing online with pirated games can still be a threat.
