Street Fighter V - Online Pakistani Gamers

Can people just specify which connection/modem and/or router they are using and if they have frequent matches on those devices. Apparently on reddit there was a guy who switched his router and then started getting instant matches...

So far iv only had 3 matches in my... 7 to 8 hours or searching/playing. Using worldcall and a tplink router

It's bad I'm still not getting casual and ranked matches with local players, only battle lounges (PTCL/TPLink)... How the hell am I supposed to earn fight money now...?

People blaming PTCL for matchmaking need to chill. It is an issue everywhere. Long wait times should be reduced by the time the first March content update is out.

na karein sir jee ive had multiple id resets since launch i had the game 4/5 days before made shit tons of ids with differnt flags and they kept resetting ids for fair server launch hell i even used to stream for dasti and irontriggor before launch when matchmaking was quick, that answers the 200+ ranks i wasnt spamming jump hk i was mostly amazed at teleportation and laughing what was going on , not taking anything from you in that game ,ive played with ptcl people too it was smooth as hell in lounges so pata nai at that time one of us was downloading porn so maybe thats why its laggy, i tried to get a match last night it took around 9 minutes which is unacceptable and the worst part is it got dced as soon as the match started they made matchmaking even more retarted since yesterday

Alright my bad. Still, I switched to ethernet + did alot of network fiddling for this game, going as far as to turn off wifi devices when trying, so no, I wasn't the one downloading a thing.

Anyhow, does anyone know if PTCL allows port forwarding at all now? Been getting port closed on the same settings that used to show ports open. And yea, IP is set in DMZ so that should not be the issue here.

A Counter Strike port forwarding server guide had a note saying that PTCL changed it's policy in March 2015 to only allow port forwarding on a static external ip? And not on the normal dynamic external ip that we have?

Can anyone verify that?

Wow. You have been getting matches in Islamabad and on PTCL!? What time are you playing!? On PC or PS4? I have been trying to get matches since launch and have got nothing! zilch! zero! nada! Only able to play lounges.

I got them during evening like 4pm - 7pm something but I can't get matches at all now though.


UPDATE: Well, multiple websites on laptop were showing port closed but I just installed Tunngle and checked for the port icon on bottom right.

It says port open. So that's one myth busted I guess.

The matchmaking really is busted. Just wait like a week. Honestly, I just want to not play until March when the lobbies and store get added in since online is such a pain anyways.

yeah this is the first night i didnt got any match and yesterday was shit in mm too , honestly im not hopeful this will fixed any time soon since its working flawlessly for alot of people , its sort of like that bo3 situation where it was working flawlessly for 99 percent of the world and it sucked ass for us pakistanis, the gameplay is solid no doubt about that but this game had more than 4 betas to fix these problems and it didnt what makes peole think they will fix this shit in march is beyond me good for us if it does but im not hopeful

aao bhaio rainbow six siege kheltay hain mil kay sab, can vouch its the best game of this generation and the best part of the game is that it WORKS unlike our beloved sf5

In my case I usually get matches in battle lounges. They are usually shit but once in a while you get a good connection and a nice enough person who will play couple of matches with you... PTCL people should not bother with ranked or casual as it will usually result in disappointment...

EDIT: Also a little suggestion... if you're constantly facing problems having matches then setup a password protected lobby and post it to StreetFighterPK community. Any Pakistani SF player online might be able to join you...

@jibrangulabbasi Don't give up on street fighter now as this is the best time to learn the game (and also to unlearn poor habits)... a few months from now all the casual players would leave and there would only be the hardcore left on the scene... Harder to get into the game at that point...

See, that's the issue. It's not fun to play with no reward of any sort especially with the online struggle and the need for Fight Money soon. And this is coming from a guy who beat Survival on Hell difficulty lol.

I'll check here and then but yea, looks like I'm clearing my backlog till March update.

Unless you have nothing to play, I can understand your skepticism. But in my case, and maybe for others, there are still some games to pick and play in the backlog. We are hopeful because Capcom has promised a lot more content updates in the future, and secondly, the matchmaking being shit is not something exclusive to Pakistan, no matter how much you believe it is. Battle Lounges have been working flawless for me except for Launch day, when they didn't work. If I want to play online, I can easily join any fight in Battle Lounge. Even the net code is pretty good and I have played some matches with US that went fine despite just 1 ping bar. Then there are matches that showed 3 ping bars but had random spikes of lag.

Whatever is the case, I am sure that it can be easily fixed. I haven't managed to find a game as bad as SFV in term of matchmaking. Every other MP game has worked fine. I also play TLOU a lot and it can take some time for matchmaking but once we get into the first match, the subsequent matches are rather quick to get into.

Even if I have zero luck with any casual or ranked match, I am positive that it can be solved because I have tried all four of the Betas and got into matches every now and then. The first one had the longest wait time but it started to reduce with each update. I am not sure what went wrong at launch but the Beta gives me hope that it can be resolved.

Anyways, if you are desperate and looking for last resort, reddit users are stating that a netgear router can solve this issue.

I think you went about all wrong playing this game. You will not find Ranked / Casual matches easily. Even if you do your gameplay will suffer greatly from lag and you will be frustrated....so dont even try.

sir rona is cheez ka hai before launch atleast 4 to 5 days before it i used to get matches in under a minute with arbis indians, bahraini people and the game was fun as hell with 0 lag it went to shit around 3 days ago where they had some server restart

sir bismillah karein ap netgear router kay sath inshallah we will follow if you succeed , and yeah ive got a huge backlog aswell bo3 works flawlessly now so maybe that and when nothing works siege bf4 and battlefront always works!

alot of this gen games were shit at launch namely bf4 bo3 even tlou multiplayer had some severe problems but yeh have to agree this tops them all

i mean im all up for fanboyism but thin as hell roster, average graphics almost no single player at launch and multiplayer bhi na chalay? wtf did we paid for again? empty future promises?

Well I am just a casual fighter TBH and not really that invested in SFV. I'd rather wait and hope Capcom gets their shit fixed then go buy Netgear on the whim that it might fix matchmaking

I have played others fighters online too, like Killer Instinct, and honestly they work fine aside from MKX, which had region locekd multiplayer and my copy being US mean I was stuck with US players and to top it, the net code was utter shit. Atleast SFV has good net code.

P.S I played around 7 matches with [MENTION=6579]irontriggor[/MENTION] today and his Necali is brutal with his stuns and crush counters. I wasn't able to win a single match. Mad respect to him and I hope he can get ranked matches soon so he can top the list of ranked players for Pakistan.

the in-game system to check whether someone is online or offline is bugged. It showed like 7 people from my favourites list as online even though only 1 of them actually was.

I was in karachi for a few days and played the game offline, Man its absolutely amazing. The game engine is designed in a way that it rewards players with better fundamentals.. The game is soo hard (Yes its harder thn SF4) on high level.. There is no such thing like easy damage like ultra combos, you have to work to get the damage out of your opponent even if your V-Trigger is activated and the Best part is no-chip kill.. man I've won soo many rounds cuz of that, it forces the opponent to come to you rather than hiding in the corner and throwing fireballs.

About the online.... well I'm not surprized, i wasn't able to get any rank matches im SF4 so im not really bothered much abt ranks .. PTCL wont let us change our route to UAE, i tried everything, from changing the cable/router to buying a static ip. Its just cant be done. U must have a FTTH to get ranked matches in PAK ..

TBH for me, online Ranks mean nothing. It just means u have too much time... Trust me I've beaten Players with high bp easily in UK and they were shit.. They just get used to the idea of winning so they concentrate more on winning than improving.
