Strange AMD driver issue

Ae Allah the problem has been fixed as per my knowledge. Running games easily now without any problems. Before fixing, it would give black screen on boot and computer would not respond. Now it is running games like Trine 2 etc (dont have any games since windows8.1 was newly installed ).

Before installing drivers, games through the gpu were running at 2 or 3 fps. now 60 fps as usual.

congrats on that.
you have to be careful while u use it now though.
monitor the temps at every moment when u game. keep it at a stable and maintained position.

secondly i just got to know by your PC specs that u have a CM extreme series PSU.
well it could have been the culprit. change it with a corsair or any other quality brand/model when ever u can.

the problem seem to have been electrical

moreover, if u don't use a stabilizer with your PC. then it is highly recommended to u to use a good servo motor stabilizer like stabimatic to get to a safe edge.

but your GPU life is lesser now. YOU start find another GPU for your rig. repaired cards wont LAST LONGS.

Yes I should change this card now (was already thinking of getting a 270x from abroad). Still I think I can squeeze more out of this card, because the only things that were damaged were 2 small capacitors. Thankfully the main chip itself is good, and temps are fine like they were before.

Expectations for it to work for a few more months are so low now, so I won't regret it if it dies soon. I mean I've played every great PC game that came out in the past 5-6 years on it. Buying a new GPU right after selling it won't be a good move either (because of lack of new games).

I wonder how much money those people who buy semi-damaged cards (like mine) make. They just have to repair a small capacitor or memory module and the GPU starts working fine and then they sell it for 5-10K more. :/ It's a good business lol.
