StormFiber - Weird latency shoot to Dubai (StormFiber)

Hello,

So its been 5 months and I used to be a happy StormFiber customer. Two of the main reasons was streaming and gaming.
The routing wasn't that great on Transworld towards Dubai and Singapore servers so on my request they shifted me to PIE and from 140ms it went to 28ms in Dubai for me and I was over the moon because it was one hell of a drastic change.
Pings on SEA were 72ms, better than 110ms earlier. 4 months went well, but suddenly since last month I started facing 148ms on dubai servers. SEA is only 83ms but from 28ms to 147ms it was really unplayable.

I ran tracert and shared with SF team but they had no other response as it was out of their scope and they couldnt do shit about it.
I wanna share the TRACERT with you guys, the ping is absolutely fine at all hopes beside the last hop. I have no idea why does it take that high jump.

Can anybody please explain why from 28ms on 2nd last hop to 149ms to the last hop?
My friends who are still using PTCL are getting 45ms same on PIE node.

As I have shown you on the other thread, TW routing isn't the problem at all. I have always hovered around 20~ms since i got Fiberlink in December. I think there was a time in between when I was getting 40~ for a couple of weeks but nothing like that. It seems to be a storm fiber thing

Hello,

Storm Fiber user here and facing the same issue. Last node (185.25.183.1) ping is super high for me as well. Goes from 20ms on the second last to 80+ on the last one.

Been facing this issue for the last month and a half at least. Things were golden before then but as of now, all valve servers have unplayable ping.

Not sure how significant this is but the data loss on second last node is 43% (First Column) . I'm guessing it has something to with it.

I always had high ping on TW node while using StormFiber so I had to get PIE node forcefully. And I am getting 149ms on last destination.
This is literally fucked up.

I was getting 110ms ping to dubai yesterday but when I logged on today I'm getting 36ms. Same route, same everything. Did something happen? Did they actually fix something?

Yeah they fixed the congestion and now their upstream is fucked up again.

Dear Valued Customer,As per updates received from upstream provider the current service issues being faced are due to a submarine cable cut on TW1 cable system. This cut is off the coast from Karachi. Concern teams are diligently coordinating for earliest restoration of smooth services. Further no ETTR is available at the moment. Occasional congestion on services in peak hours for the next 24 to 48 hours may be experienced. We will further update you accordingly.

    You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
