yes i have played warcraft 3 `n it was dispointin compared to other blizzard titles or even what u xpect after warcraft 2 ..... only other better game blizzard made is WOW.... `n still waitin for starcraft: ghost

well.... on popularity basis starcraft is the most popular RTS game of all time.... warcraft3 is OK not bad.... but not upto the standard wat u xpect after WC2 `n starcraft on RTS level

Just out of curiosity, I would like to know how you define, a RTS level? and what you were expecting after WC2?

@Inferno some people don't like the added RPG elements/Hero Units/Creeps/Spell/Abilities which actually add a lot more depth to game and move the genre forward.

dude..... have u played WC2 it was the time of red alert1..... `n latter SC was made .... welll WC3 was not that compicate i hav better games.... `n y r u ppl gettin so offended im just expressin my thoughts ...freedom of speach ppl !!!!!

hey we are just asking, and yes i have played WC2, SC, Red alert ( not even in the same league as blizzard games ) but i think WC3 is much better and improves on the formula laid down be WC2 and Stracraft.

thats your opion i think otherwise...WC3 is a good game but not exllect.... it lacked basic good quilities unit production, over depened on heros.... smalll scale battles it was OK for single player but on multiplayer level it was annoyin... frozen throne brought improvements but still ...unbalanced teams but thats what patches are for..... there are better RTS out there `n in RTS games gameplay matters more than anything else graphics, sounds etc... are added bouns.....everyone have different opions so just relax !!!

well doesn't the low unit limit and tax on resource gathering actually add more strategy to the game? otherwise its mostly just a race to who can gather faster and pump out more units. The lower unit limit means that you have to choose what to make carefully and actually micro manage them in battle unlike games like Red alert/Starcraft where its pretty much who makes more units faster. In warcraft 3 it basically comes down to who handles his units better.
Anyways Peace, you love starcraft and i am totally cool with that.

Starcraft is EASILY the best RTS ever made, and considering SC2 is coming out soon, it wouldnt be a bad idea to play the original and develop a feel for the game. Statements like starcraft is about "who gets more units faster" are very ignorant, because a game thats so simple cant engender a pro scene or be played in mass amounts 10 years after its release. On bnet you'll still find that of all blizzard games, starcraft has the most users most of the time.

You cant play on bnet without a legit cd key, so either purchase one (SC is cheap now) or get hold of one from a friend who doesnt play it anymore. If you cant do that, visit sc.iccup.com (or iccup.com) and install their gateway. You can play there without a cd key. Alternatively you can also play on hamachi. (Iccup has LAN latency, similar to gg-client or hamachi).

I've played a lot of the CnC games, and while they're fun to casually play singler player, the multiplayer experience blows. I've played warcraft3 as well, and just the fact that a UMS (dota) is far more popular than melee clearly states it has much to be desired. One top war3 pro (non korean) stated himself that starcraft is a much superior game than war3 (google this, you should be able to find the interview).

If you feel like trying out SC, you absolutely must. The game is supremely intense, very diverese, has a massive skill range, and very fun. Once you begin to understand the nuances, you'll realize the true depth of the game and understand why its lasted so long. Plus, any skills that you gain in SC will 100% help you in SC2. I've seen some FPVODs of sc2 and its obvious that people familiar with SC will have a big edge.
