Speed Throttle presented by TES and Optix

Im using Optix (60Mbps) which is giving me trouble with US servers. It seems they have deliberatly capped the downloading speed form US servers to 30 mbps and upload to 1.5mbps. Surprisingly, the west coast servers (LA, San Fran etc) have less latency than east cost (NYC, Miami) servers (which should be opposite?)..

But things suddenly change on European servers, namely London, which is where i only get full downloading speed but upload is severely capped again.

I am trying to understand this because im having trouble with MS OneDrive cloud which i recently got for business and personal use. The uploading speed i get on it is extremely pathetic. I dont see a point of having a 60mbps connection if i cant even use it. Is someone else facing this issue, also are TES better or are they just the same? Is there anything i can do to get my speed fixed so i can atleast use OneDrive easily? It takes 30 mins to upload 1 GB of file on OneDrive at the moment. Things are better with Google drive but its subscription is too expensive for me to purchase.

Someone please help.

My connection speed :

USA servers, both east and west coast :

Looks like most Pakistani ISPs are doing this. I'm on Stormfiber and I get as advertised speeds. When I called SF and asked them why they were charging more for their 30mbps connection than others for more the 50mbps, this is what they told me.

You mean you don't have an issue with US servers in both uploading and downloading? Have you tried MS OneDrive? Can you upload a 2 GB file on it and let me know what speed you get for uploading? Thanks

PS: If you dont have Microsoft's OneDrive, just signup for a free email at outlook.com and it'll come with free 5GB of one drive which you can use for testing. Thanks

Full 30mbps at 11pm. Pretty good I'd say.

I have been using optix for over an year in lahore and never face any download or upload speeds issues. I use 20 MB connection and almost always get above 20MB over torrents but never used google or one drive so not sure how that effects.
But i have been using WD cloud home with the hard drive in another place in lahore and almost always get full speed on download and upload. I wonder when we have WD cloud home why spend money on google drive and stuff when it offer more features

While you raise a good point why people opt for cloud storage providers, people would because
1. Doesn't require setting up
2. Cloud storage has multiple layers of redundancy (storage-wise and network-wise) (which can go both ways, cause if there's an under sea cable cut, then traffic within Pakistan remains intact, but if providers use a CDN with a mirror in Pakistan, then the difference is moot).
3. Cost, up front, is significantly cheaper.

Glad to know that using StormFiber I don't have to go through that. Try emailing your support they will fix it eventually.

Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
