Let’s finalize pricing guesses for both editions!

PS5 Disc Edition = $449
PS5 Digital Edition = $399

I think its quite obvious and simple. There are different priorities and target markets.
1) for people for whom exclusives (and maybe specific games) matter will naturally go for whatever platform exclusives are on.
2) people from whom price will be highest priority, and spend alot of time on multiplatforms i.e console fifa, madden, COD, etc market

they will cover both of these markets nicely.

Absolutely. This is a massive market. Bigger than exclusives even.

Both Sony & Microsoft really ought to be offering regional pricing for different countries, if they hope their disc-less consoles to sell well. Otherwise, there's simply no point in owning a disc less console, especially when you lose the previlege to sell/buy/trade-in preowned games.

It's gonna be close but I think Sony might gamble a bit here with the pricing:

The shop's name is El Corte Ingles (as per the name shown on the screen at the top) based in Spain/UK. Prices look to be in Euro.

Going by how the prices of consoles are announced to be the same for USD and Euro, it seems likely the PS5 Disc Version is going to end up being US$499. Kind of disappointing but expected.

Still will be happily surprised if it is less than $499

It'll be positively surprising for me if Sony tries to undercut the XSX's price point with the disc drive version of the PS5. The digital edition at $400 makes a lot of sense. A $100 difference between the Series S and PS5 is going to be tempting even for the budget conscious consumers.

XBSX looks like a mini fridge, PS5 looks like an anaconda in the middle of swallowing a regular PS4.

Yep, no orientation makes the PS5 design look less than terrible. Minimalism is a lost art at Sony.
