I'm reading a Norwegian article here and a few interesting tidbits are revealed. Today Funcom got government financial support to make a third game in the series (1.5mill NOK/~250k$) and they revealed that the third game in the series would be released by digital download only whenever it comes around. Also, they are thinking about making it an episodic game. They're also thinking about making a online roleplaying game based on the franchise as well. Right now however every muscle at Funcom is focused on finishing Age of Conan (The pc version) which has a firm release date of October 31st.

    You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
