Samsung 870 EVO Sata 250 GB not recognised by Samsung Magician

Ok So Today i bought Samsung EVO 870 SATA 250 GB to to install windows to make my very old pc a little fast anyways i bought it from New Karachi 6th ROad Rawalpindi brand new with one year warrranty and i was never interested in knowing if its genuine or not but i decided to check it if its GENUINE or not before installing windows, i installed Samsung Magician and it recognised it but not as its own product, Diagnostic Scan, Performance Optimisation, Over Provisioning, LED Setting, Secure Erase, PSID Revert, Encrypted Drive, Data Migration all are disabled "Displaying Device is not Supported" what is the issue? devie" Samsung 870 EVO" is not genuine? i purchased it @ 10k+ and in BIOS AHCI is Enabled.

Download CrystalDiskInfo and post a screenshot of the info page for the Samsung SSD.

I'm quite certain it's fake though, because Samsung SSD serial numbers are in a different format and the firmware for newly manufactured 870 EVOs is SVT02B6Q, which doesn't match the firmware version in your screenshots.

Download CrystalDiskInfo and post a screenshot of the info page for the Samsung SSD.

i did some internet search few other guys also had the issue but the thread led to nowhere anyways here is the screeshot, but before going back to shopwala i have to be 100% certain that is fake as i unboxed and held it in my hand everything seemed genuine uptill i decided to check it with samsung magician .

I'll get home tomorrow and compare with my 870 EVO, but meanwhile can you post pictures of the drive itself (including the sticker on the drive), and the box, with all the stickers including the one with the barcode that shows the manufacturing date?

I have seen all unboxing videos this SSD is pretty convincing looks real, i was thinking of going to the shopwala and plead my case even though the serial number dont match on box, on SSD and the one shown on Crsytal Disk Info and Samsung Magician all three are different i mean i have seen all the fake on internet they look fake and cheap but the one i have looks real health and benchmark(i have old PC with SATA 2 so they dont go 560 and 530) are good i dont know what to do i am confused.

That's a pretty convincing looking fake. The S/N on the back of the drive is in the same format as an actual 870EVO, but if the SMART data doesn't actually match that, then it's a huge red flag.

Also noticed a funny typo on the bottom of the sticker on the back of your drive, it says samsung.con instead of .com

Thanks i never noticed that "con" but the benchmarks were impressive pretty close to original.

I was about to install the windows on new SSD but i mistakenly formatted the storage partition with lots of stuff family pics man i am so sad is there any way i can recover them? i have been trying whole day with "Minitool" software but the recovered data pics documents are not opening is there any better tool to recover?please help i know this is not the right thread.

I'm no expert on data recovery, but trying to recover deleted files on an SSD is much harder compared to an HDD.

There are paid recovery softwares out there that you can try, but no guarantees that they will actually work.

AS your SSD is new i am assuming you formatted the old HDD, if its HDD you have a chance, don't use that drive and try running some data recovery software like easues data recovery.

If that partition was an ssd partition i guess you are out of luck then
