Wonderfully directed by David Yates, it is an energetic epic that will keep Potter fans more than happy as the countdown for the new - and final - book draws on.

FINAL CUT

MOODY and magical - the Phoenix brims with sizzling entertainment and action. A dark and delicious delight...a must see movie. ****

But overall there is a shortage of those joyful little glimpses of the wizarding world’s furniture that punctuated and perked up the previous films.

The fifth – and longest – book on which the film is based plays a crucial but faintly turgid role in the saga. Much is explained, much is left hanging and there is nothing like the pace of action that readers had grown accustomed to in earlier episodes (especially The Goblet of Fire). The book pulled this off because it was tantalising in what it didn’t tell us.

You're too freaking fast, I was only three clicks away from posting this same thing! Gah!

Anyway, can't wait for this movie at all. It looks like the best of all Potters and the closest to the source material. I hope they've done this well because the fourth one was such a big disappointment. From the trailers, it looks fantastic, but then again, what movie doesn't?

IMDB gives it a 7.9/10. That's not bad at all considering the last Potter got 7.8/10. But I'm expecting it to drop, or rise in near future.

87 percent drops to 77 percent, while IMDB's 7.9 is increased to 8.1.

Critics suck. Not because they gave this low ratings, they just want everything to be 'magical omigosh dragons elves dwarfs whatever. They can't digest a dark and realistic HP movie for once which the book mainly was.

'Phoenix' breaks opening day record
The Wednesday opening of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has set a new record at the box office. The fifth Potter installment took in $44 million, making it the most successful movie for a Wednesday debut. It surpassed Spiderman 2, which had made $40.2 million on its opening day. Paul Dergarabedian, the president of Media By Numbers, calls the record "pretty incredible."

"This is one of those rare franchises that is as relevant today as it was when the franchise first started. For a fifth installment to be breaking records is pretty incredible."

He also predicts the movie to quickly rise to the $100 million mark over the weekend.

She said 4 people will die. 2 important, 2 unimportant.

In other news, HP and the OOTP gets to be in IMDB's top 250! It's the first HP movie to get a place on there, but I don't think it'll last for long. It's resided upon #247 as of now, with a score of 8.2.

Offtopic: Can anyone please tell me the exact date the book will be released here in Pakistan? I know the last book was released simultaneously as the US, but can anyone confirm this about the last one? Please?
