The gameplays snippets in the interview are probably the most impressive bits I have ever come across for this game. This really is looking to be a pretty awesome experience.

Ah man, that's a little disappointing. Now there's practically nothing releasing on PS5 in March (besides Yakuza: LAD, Disco Elysium, and Kena maybe).
I haven't played any console games for a few years. Though, after reading this thread, I felt like leaving a short comment. I would definitely like to see the take of devs of Resogun on a 3D third person action game. It would likely have some interesting design aspects.
Resogun was a good game. I played it around five years ago. The graphics or the stages themselves didn't stand-out. However, idk how many people realize this point, but I felt that one area that was particularly good was the scoring system. It was quite well-designed. I was a bit disappointed by how easy it was to get to near-top of the online scoreboards though. It seemed clear that quite few people had tried to explore it, even at a basic level.

Completely agree about wanting to see the Resogun devs do a 3rd person action game. This is mainly why I'm excited for Returnal as well. It looks like Nex Machina in 3rd person. The only question mark for me is the roguelike/roguelite aspect, as someone who isn't a fan of the repetition associated with such games.

They should add a non-RT mode that targets 120fps @ 1080p.
It's more of a rogue-lite, with lighter rogue-like elements. Every level has one biome that you unlock after defeating a boss, which serves as a checkpoint. So, it's somewhat of a rogue/souls-like hybrid.
Story is one of the main things, but it's told in a manner similar to that of Hades.
