Resident Evil 4 frame rate problem

downloaded Resident Evil 4 today and it was a big disappointment.The game starts ok during the cut scene but when the actual game starts the frame rate drops around 5 FPS.I tried lowering the settings but there was no option to do that.Any help?And the controls SUCK.Period.Is there a way to change them?

My setup:

CPU:Intel Pentium 4 @ 2.4 GHz
RAM:1 GB DDR 200 MHz
GPU:Nvidia GeForce FX 5500
OS:XP SP2

Well when i played RE4 on my P4 pc with the builtin intel 128mb gpu it ran fine 2-3 years ago

And your ram seems like its not big enough to handle it. Neither your card maybe.

1 GB of Ram was more than enough for games of that time.People with lower specs have played it without any problems so I'm sure its not related to hardware only.
