Hello guys,

So i wanted advice on which laptop to upgrade too.

My first option is the new razer balde 2015 the $2,300 one

or

The second option is to wait for the new MacBook Pro to come in June.

I need a laptop for work and gaming but my only concern with the razer blade is the battery life for work and would it survive a couple of years. I have read that they have upgraded there cooling solution and battery life in comparison to the older razer blade and as the newer one has a 970m which is more power efficient so i doubt this gen would have any heating issues as compared to the older one.

My main concern is portability and reliability

I will in USA so the new razer balde is available in North America

My budget is around $2500. But my main concern is portability and reliability
If not gaming, I would go for macbook pro, personally used it for a while, perfect device, excellent battery, satisfactory performance, reduced the budget to around 1/3 and you can still get a good device for average usage, if you are going to for Windows devices, don't settle for anything less than Fhd, 8-12gb, 1tb, i7 4700mq, gtx 850m.
Ssd would be a must in this range too

Yeah i agree too MacBooks are great for work too but not meant for even casual gaming. But i cant wait till june for the new line of MacBooks to come out.

And the razer blade does exceed those specs significantly expect for storage space and storage is the least of my worries.

I need something which portable as a college student cant carry around an Alienware or a Asus ROG series around too heavy but i admit i can get a more powerful laptop than the blade.
I just dont know about the blade's reliability and battery life.

MSI has a few gaming high end laptops launched
Check the MSI Stealth , it's light weight and comes with a punch.
