Salam everyone so i was going to get an HDTV this week and had decided in a topic before but i learned that on 32" screens there is no noticeable difference between 1080p and 720p is this true?

the 32" is set because of my room size i'll have a 9 foot distance between me and the tv. I just need to confirm this so i can save myself a nice chunk of money for games instead :)

thanks!

Go for it. There is pretty much no difference unless you want to attach a pc with it. 720p will be fine for movies, gaming and regular tv - although i'll recommend getting at a 40 incher to for a fully immersive experience. Having used both 32" and 40" screens, i much prefer the latter.

40" is definitely better BUT see your room size as you will really waste your money if your room is small and you buy 40".

thanks for the info guys i save a good 18k with the 720p i'll eventually get a bigger tv for the lounge 40+ but for the room where im sitting at an 8 feet distance this seems to be the best option.

Samsung was the top brand for HDTV's but as of currently Sony ones are cheaper by a small margin and the one i saw at the store had live color (the colors popped more and looked realistic) while the samsung did not. Im not sure about larger models though.

Also the 3D LED samsung is just absolutely amazing too bad its over priced beyond any reasonable price and lacks content.

Also another thing i learned was that for those who watch TV Shows (Lost, House, Dexter etc) these will remain 720p for quite some time so its not a big loss to get a 720p at smaller sizes.

thanks again guys will inshallah have it by the end of this week (y)

Rules

1)Bigger is always better. You think at 9 feet 32" is okay for you? I have 46" at 11 feet and I feel the the need to go for a 50"/52" screen.
2)I dont even consider 32" to be called a proper LCD. Go for 40" a minimum. LCDs are long term investment so dont just think about the 9 feet and your room. Think that in future you can move the LCD to your drawing room etc or watch 1080p content on it etc etc.
3)Buy Samsung. Never go for shitty and expensive Sony no matter what the shopkeepers tell you.
4)If you see someone talking about how 'colors looked better on Bravia" slap them on the head. They probably dont know that there are 3 or 4 different picture modes on LCDs and if thats not enough, you can create a custom mode and play with brightness, contrast, black levels etc. and create almost any picture you want

I have a 37 inches Samsung LCD. I also sit at a distance of about 8 to 9 feet and in my opinion it is of a perfect size. I am really satisfied by it and had chosen it over Sony after so much research. But one thing is really annoying about it. When you want to increase or decrease the volume you have to press the button on the remote and wait for a little while for the tv to respond. Other than that it is really good. Its full HD too.

Phil should be held responsible for this shitfest too, just like Sarah, but it's highly likely that these decisions are coming from Satya. And this isn't even the end of it. More closures are coming.

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
