Query: SSD upgrade in Asus laptop

Hi All,
I have Asus n55sf laptop which came with 640gb HDD. I have been wanting to upgrade to an ssd for quite sometime. However, my concern is losing the factory windows 7 and drivers image which is built in to the hdd.
1 Can I retain the OS and drivers and still upgrade?
2 Can I run hdd and ssd in parallel?
3 If I can't run ssd and hdd in parallel, is the upgrade simply a matter of swapping the hdd with ssd or do I need a caddy?
4 Which ssd would U guys recommend? I'm looking for 500-750gigs.

I had an Asus k55n and I installed an ssd last month

1)i got a Samsung ssd and it came with its migration software and I retained everything.

2) yes you can but only if you have an optical drive. If your laptop has an optical drive then you can swap the optical drive with an Hdd caddy which can be easily bought from Ali express.

3) if you're willing to let your Hdd go then swapping will do. If you want both then get a caddy.

4) I got a 750 series Samsung ssd 256 gb from a relative who was coming from America. 750 series offers very good performance for a very good price. 850 series is better but is expensive.

I'd advise you to get a 128/256 gb ssd and use it as a boot drive and for other purposes for which you need an ssd and also use the Hdd using a caddy as a large storage option. I use this configuration and my Hdd is turned off from Windows to save power and I turn it on when needed. I put the Hdd using its caddy in just today, before today I was using the ssd alone. Either way just get an ssd no matter what. Insane performance bump

You can run both HDD and SSD parallel but for that you need to connect HDD at Optical drive through caddy. As for HDD Samsung EVO SSDs are good. But it depends on availability.

It is always recommended to fresh install OS. However there is cloning procedure available. I am not sure if it will work in your case as running 2xHDDs and cloning the OS to second disk works perfectly.

Another option is to go with WD Black2 Dual Drive. It is expensive but if you don't have any other options you can consider going for it.

You can visit Ahmed Computers in Saddar Rawalpindi for SSD and other storage drives.
For recommendation, Samsung SSDs are best in the business.

Other option:

    Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
