PTCL Wifi Modem

I am a currently a user of PTCL broadband. I saw the below ad on PTCL website:

I wish to get this modem. PTCL have written on the above page that "All existing subscribers irrespective of their packages will be charged Rs. 750 as modem up-gradation charges, and their package charges will remain as per policy". I just wish to know if Rs. 750 is the price of the modem and would I own it? Or it would remain the property of PTCL and whenever I stop my PTCL I would have to return the modem to them? If anyone of you know this please inform. Thanks

Before it used to be 100 or 200 i dont exactly remember per month for wifi modem. and you would have to return the modem.


They have not mentioned clearly the new charges for existing customers who wish to now get wifi. But I can say this that the 750 rs is just an administrative fee and they will prolly take the modem back.

Thanks The Alchemist for the reply. If I want to buy it would the PTCL sell the modem to me? Of if they don't sell can I buy it from the market? What to ask the shopkeepers to give me? I mean what is the name and model no. of the modem? Kindly inform me. Yours sincerely

just buy wifi router of some good company. e.g tp link it costs around 2-2.5k you can get with or without the the modem i.e option for telephone line

Get your own modem. The one in the picture is old, PTCL now gives crappy Tenda W150D ADSL Modem (WiFi) with new connections, IT'S CRAP!
