source is official concerns

i have personally updated this firmware , no issue ,better than all previous ones

no hangs no disconnections

iptv works

Sounds shady as hell, but as long as it works, it'll do.

Does the DSL-225 also have different hardware revisions? Since the firmware posted by StrikerX a few months back, worked for some and didn't work for some.

Its very easy to recover from bad flash at least for this model

very simple steps if anyone bricked his modem

this is the best and latest firmware in which they addressed all bugs


if this firmware not work on any modem HW version please let me know i will figure it out and download firmware as well

No, but it is recommended that one does a clean configuration by factory resetting.

Another safe method is to backup your modem settings before updating and after updating your firmware you can restore the settings so the modem works without any issue.
You can backup by going into Management ---> Settings ---> Backup

Backup from management is the backup of modem settings not firmware (Like your connection settings etc). You need a factory reset to backup to old firmware and not all router's/modems has that option and i am not sure about DSL-225.

It should be compatible with J1 version IF THIS is the newer version, i am not sure about it so don't take my words for it.

1. It is from official sources and official firmware of PTCL customized router
2. I am not sure dlink 225 comes in different variants or not but mine was old one and it must be J1 and sticker on back is no more intact. Even if you flash wrong firmware on modem, it is very easy to recover from bad flash just type 192.168.1.5 in system and enter 192.168.1.1 in browser you will get option to flash modem again.
3. That only backs your settings not firmware

So got to 192.168.1.1 page
Now how do i revert back to working firmware? Where is stock image?

Ok I can confirm this is working on J1 DSL-225 modem.

At first i got image attached above that scared me!
Modem rebooted with red power light and LAN light and no other activity.
Read this image, and it says to wait 2min too. Works after that! Voila. Waiting is required!
