New Packages effecting 1st March 2008

There is no more 256k connection.

512kbps - Rs. 1199
1024kbps - Rs.1999
2048kbps - Rs.4999

All packages have unlimited bandwidth


Student Package
512kbps - Rs.839
1024kbps - Rs.1399
2048kbps - Rs.3499



All the current 256k users will be upgraded to 512k, 512k users will be upgraded to 1024kbps, 1024kbps will be upgraded to 2048kbps on 1st March 2008

This is awesome i'm on 256k now from 1st march i'll be on 512k.

Question: What are the rates of DSL Broadband services under this scheme of HEC - PTCL?
Answer:

Question: Who can avail this opportunity of 30% discount for PTCL broadband services?
Answer:This facility is available for enrolled students, faculty members and administrative staff of universities/ institutes residing either in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad/Rawalpindi or Peshawar.

Question: How to apply for the HEC broadband services?
Answer: Only online applications are accepted. Applicants should apply online through web link on HEC website or follow this URL http://bncc.ptcl.net.pk:88/

Question: What will happen once the application is submitted?
Answer: Once application is successfully submitted, it will then be forwarded to the Registrar of your university for verification. Once verified, you will then be contacted by PTCL people for the installation of DSL modem and commissioning of services.

Question: I have applied for this offer a while ago but I have not heard anything either from HEC or PTCL?
Answer: You are advised to check with the Registrar office of your university, if your application has been verified or not. If verified then email to [email protected]

Question: If I have a DSL connection already installed by PTCL at my residence then what is the procedure to avail this offer?
Answer: You apply for a fresh request online through HEC website. After normal application processing, as described
above, is completed, installation team from PTCL will contact you. At this stage PTCL installation team
may be asked to shift this account/connection under HEC broadband scheme. PTCL billing system will
then consider this connection as from HEC. You do not need to disconnect your existing setup.

Question: The Link is not functional/page is not opening?
Answer: The page and link is accessible from any where. However If you face any problems while accessing it, please contact your network administrator.

Question: Can a students/faculty member/staff who is resident of other cities apply for this? Or applicant is outside from mentioned cities?
Answer: At present, the facility is limited to Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad/Rawalpindi and Peshawar only. However, PTCL plans to open up this facility for other cities as well. HEC will update the website accordingly.

The other internet companies will try to stay in the competition so they will lower their prices aswell so it'll all be good for the customers but there would be loss for the Companies hehe .

if 1mpbs is 2000 then 2mbps shud be 4000
