Broadband System to improve customer experience

PTCL has planned to upgrade its Broadband System to improve customer experience, for which DSL broadband service will remain suspended in the following cities according to the following schedule: Faisalabad and Multan from 5:00am to 7:00am on Friday, April 25, 2008 and in Gujranwala, Sialkot and Peshawar from 5:00am to 7:00am on Saturday, April 26, 2008.
The time has been selected when Broadband traffic is the lowest so that customers have the minimum impact while their service is being upgraded.

well i have a local cable operator in my area.

couple of days back i went to an other area of lahore to visit my friend. he gets 60KBPS continuous speed what ever time it is. he has 47 ppl on his network. HOW THE F*** can this be????? does the cable operator has some "kundi" in fibre optic bridge

The DSL service is not the problem itself, there are number of facts evolve which majority of peoples ignore it:

1 - The telephone line
Even though it's not the consumer fault, but in order to get the maximum quality service from your DSL, just goto your nearest telephone exchange contact a lineman, give him RS 200 and tell him to add a ethernet cable directly from the telephone pole to your house (of course you have to provide him a ethernet cable) and then you can use that cable to connected your ADSL modem, the main reason for using the ethernet cable is getting lower resistance = maximum signals.

hey man, can you elaborate on this a bit please? I'd like to get it done but I dont think I fully understand it.

An ethernet cable is the sort of cable that runs between my router and my computer, right? ie the "LAN" cable? So I will have to buy one of those, and have the line man run it from the telephone pole to my house, right? But what if the pole is across the street or something, wont that make it impossible? Also, if this ethernet cable is indeed a LAN cable, what do I do with it once its in my house? ie where do I plug it in... my router takes input from a phone line, and then outputs with a LAN cable directly to my computer. If I use this ethernet approach, where do I plug it in? And how can an ethernet cable be run from a telephone pole, wont a telephone pole only output a telephone line? I dont get this at all :S Please explain in detail how this works!

Taha go to run and then over dere rite cmd and den wen the program is opened there rite ping(space) ur Default Gateway(it is present in Net properties in IPV4) enter , there would be sm replys from ur default gateway then it would b workng fine and if still not call 18 and talk to a operator

i wouldn't agree i've got a 1mb connection.... i get 20-30k uploading 80-110k downloading speeds... maybe it's r connection and ur distance from the ptcl exchange dat is the cause of the problem.... i've got for 4 months now and it rarely disconnects though i've got to say i've got the latest shiro dsl modem
