PTCL Fair Usage Policy

AOA guys.

I would like to ask you guys that, did anyone of you exceeded the fair usage policy limits of PTCL in a given month?

Here is the link to the page which shows the limit for the packages.
https://www.ptcl.com.pk/Home/PageDetail?ItemId=439&linkId=1022

Is this limit real or just fake like that 3-5 years ago there was 300 GB limit on 4mb+ packages.

I'm a little confused to be honest. I'm currently using 25 Mb VDSL PTCL. I DL around 1 Terabyte from 1 Jan to 15 Jan 2020 and after that I called 1218 guys and asked them abt how much I dl this month so far and the helpline guy said 292 GB but when I checked my dl amount on ptcl site it shows accurately as above 1 TB. I also record manually whenever I dl something, so what does that mean? Is their bandwidth calculator not accurate or wat? And did anyone payed extra in their bill when they crossed the 2 TB limit for 20 Mb+ packages which I personally think is way lower. It should be atleast 5 TB IMHO.

So my simple question to this community is this 2 TB limit is real or just to scare people so they don't cross this limit. Maybe they put it so ptcl customers don't share their net with neighbors or maybe just scare tactics.

People who uses other services like Stormfiber/Transworld/Fiberlink, can they also share their experiences in this thread that how much data cap these other ISPs also put on their customers.

They might have it too.
Maybe it probably caps your network speed when you reach it?

StormFiber has 1tb limit on all of their packages including the 100mbps package which I believe is not fair, but upon calling them, they told me that it is a soft limit and if we cross the limit then there are no extra charges and a few Gbs above 1tb are not a big deal. This limit is only applied due to rules and regulations of PTA.

I am still using PTCL and most of the time my downloads are near 900Gb per month. But once my download crossed 1TB I was charged extra 200Rp for another 1 TB.

Are you sure that its only 200 extra for a whole TB? i read that its 200 per extra gb over the 1tb limit

I have downloaded almost 4 TB (3980 GB). And guess what.

PTCL suspended my number along with no bill and all :-D

I said FUCK YOU! to PTCL and got a new number. Ever since then i am trying to maintain 2000 to 2500 GB.

They have to pay a lot of money to give bandwidth so use it wisely.

This issue happened with me this month, we have internet connection of 15mb VDSL which costs about 2650 rupees but my bill came around 5k telephone and tax included. I was quite surprised and i called 1218 and they said that i have downloaded 1.5TB data and have exceeded my 1TB limit. This extra 500gb costed me 1200 rupees. Guess I would have to be careful next time but seriously this limit is way too less nowadays it should be increased.
