The reason for banning was that Xiaomi uses single imei for dual sim phones which is against the Standards of PTA + they weren't registering themselves in Pakistan as mobile phone seller.

Only the CN variants have the same IMEI, intl. variants that are sold everywhere else have 2 unique IMEIs

p.s PTA hasn't actually stated their reason for banning Xiaomi phones, they've just given a generic statement that it doesn't follow our rules and regs

anyway It looks like its monopoly of QMobile trying to kill competition as they know they wont stand a chance against Xiaomi .. same as the monopoly of Suzuki in automotive industry...

and they havnt stated what rules and regulation Xiaomi is breaking or not following ..

Pretty sure xiaomi won't care as they weren't officially launching here anyways its some private company who was supposed to import and sell it here, pretty sure that company has not got enough money to feed PTA.
