Well its not been long enough for PS4 slim to have refurbished units out already,I have been thinking to buy it myself
(I have seen lots of reviews,in reviews heating wasn't mentioned but then again most of them just review the design and unboxing stuff for their video but don't help the viewers)
So with that said
1.About Ps4 Slim being refurbished?
Well its always a good thing if a product is company refurbished (not third party) because you get the same product same quality but also double checked and reassembled by company experts (so less chances of it running into problems for a long time)
But keep in mind a company refurbished product by rules will always have a REFURBISHED TAG on the box (company can't sell it just like the non refurb/Factory New)
Then there is third party refurbished (its more of a refurnished unit) where third-party vendors use cheaper stuff in assembly to make more money on a cheaper product
2.About the Heating issue?
Well ill say its more like a lottery unlike Xbox One S,Sony didn't shrink the CPU/GPU dye which means same amount of heat generated as older console's but even in a smaller space!
Many people over PlayStation forums are experiencing auto shutdowns or instant heating but as i mentioned its a LOTTERY meaning some people didn't experience auto shutdowns too(aside from quick heating issue well every gaming machine does)
So in Summary ill Quote
Wait for the PS4 slim revision/successor or Sony might push a FW update to fix it( although its highly unlikely unless they give it the loud fan treatment)
Opt for a PS4 1200 instead
Or
if you seek a compact console, wait till the word spreads and more people share their experience
Ps4 slim hasn't been out for long ,to judge how it handle games in long run
I am considering PS4 1200 myself
