ps3 video prob..

just got an hdmi but the ps3 wont let me switch to hd resolution

when i go to settings>display>video output is 576i but when i press x on hdmi one menu comes saying press x and the display will be swtiched and nothing comes up even when i switch to hdmi source on the tv....please help guys

The select button is "O" , not X .

Reset ur ps3 by pressing the power button for like 5-10 secs until it beeps and then it'll automatically set u up on hdmi.

That depends....if his console region is NTSC/UC (and possibly PAL as well), the 'select' button is 'X'....if it's Asian/Japanese, then you press 'O'

connect hdmi cable wid tv and put ur finger on the on/off button for like 10 sec and it will pick up hd settings....i guess it will promt u that u want keep the current settings or not.

thanks alot for your help guys ,

i found out that the cable was faulty when i got it replaced ,and now its working .when i put the new wire into place then it automatically detected the cable and switched to hd .
ya ,about the X or O button ,mine works with X ,dont know if its pal or ntsc ,got it from uk.
