Salam guys. I was running Windows 7 32-bit on my dell inspiron N5110 and the thing is I wanted to upgrade it to Windows 7 64-Bit, so I ran the installation and everything went fine until when it started to boot for the first time, it gave me BSOD, then I restarted and this time it gave me a repair option, which when I ran gave me this error " your Bios is not ACPI Compliant". Now I tried to install 32 bit instead, cuz previously it was running fine but even that is giving me this error now. I don't get it, if it was a BIOS updating issue, how was windows 7 32bit previously installed and running then? Please help guys.
THanks

Your laptop is 64bit compatible. Make sure you have 64bit support enabled in bios as well as check if ACPI is enable in BIOS. Its a good idea to load defaults.

It is 64-Bit compatible. I used to have the N5110, it was a piece of shit.

Anyway, Restore Defaults in BIOS and do a fresh install of a 64-Bit copy.

ACPI not compatible error is always when ACPI is disabled in BIOS. That's the most basic of all Processor Management routine and without it you can't do anything.

On second shot, Try Ubuntu Live disk, if it boots fine than try vanilla windows 7 Image, untouched ISO.

Yar My BIOS doesn't show any options regarding ACPI. However I checked that the BIOS was extremely outdated. Have updated it now after installing XP. Will try to install 7 again tomorrow. Thanks
