Pokemon X and Y Thread ! Mega Evolution Pokémon for download this month

Nintendo has just announced Pokemon X and Y, two brand-new entries in the main Pokemon series coming to 3DS worldwide in October.


These are the first ever 3D entries in the main Pokemon series, built around the features of the 3DS hardware. A short video of the game was shown in a Nintendo Direct broadcast today, showing off three new starter Pokemon, colourful 3D environments and some old favourite monsters rendered in 3D.


The three new starter Pokemon are grass-type chipmunk-with-a-hat Chespin, fire-type foxy Fennekin and water-type frog-thing Froakie. This is massively exciting for anyone into Pokemon - we've been waiting fifteen years for a real 3D Pokemon adventure.


Iwata also announced that Pokemon X and Y will be coming to gamers worldwide at the same time - October 2013 - dispensing with the long localisation times that have traditionally gone hand-in-hand with the series.

I'm excited about the 3D world! I hope they introduce new pokemon on a minimum level. Too many already.

If you look real close, you'll notice that the legendary Pokemon, for Pokemon X and Y version, are in the shape of an X and a Y. Damn, that is clever. looksing awesome and worldwide release great decision Nintendo

lol I dont know why but whenever I think of when a new game in a series would be announced.. the next few days they actually announce the game FINALLY this completely sealed the reason for me to get a 3DS:wink2:

But I still want to know what happened to Ghetsis, N and Hilbert after black/white2:frown:also the legendary pokemon that used to exist(i.e before it was split into Zekrom Reshiram and Kyurem)

Pokémon X & Y

Japanese variety show, Pokémon Smash has just aired and has shown that there will be a new Pokémon revealed during the episode next week. It's not currently known what the contents of this will be, but the trailer showcases a clip from X & Y with a Pokémon blanked out, confirmed to be a new Pokémon. The trailer also showcased Junichi Masuda showcasing something. This was stated to be a world exclusive! We'll provide coverage as and when this comes
Edit: The official site has also posted confirming the localisation of this news will be revealed at the same time worldwide
