NA beta codes are being sent out now, just got mine. Not really a great update but I can see how it will help families. Hoping there's a hidden feature, Boost Mode and PS2 classic support were never mentioned in the patch notes.
Got my BETA code. Currently at work, will install once i head back.
Though sadly this FW doesn't have any big extra's like Boost Mode so I might as well not even use it.

My downloads are also perfectly fine from Steam/Origin/Uplay/Battle.net and regular torrents on my 10MB Wateen.
ahh WATEEN yes wateen has issues with ps4 etc... not good for gaming, why do u have it ? i wouldn't recommend wateen to anyone.
Been with PTCL for 6 years and I wouldn't ever recommend it to anyone. Perfectly satisfied with Wateen so far. Online gaming on PC is also way better than on PTCL for me.
Coming back to the issue, I believe you didn't read the opening post I linked? PS4 OS artificially caps your download speeds, so I highly doubt even switching ISP would fix it.
that it does but i still am fine with ptcl plus they have improved much since these new upgrades and digging going on getting 80pings on bf1 servers thats alot to say on ps4... i have ptcl 12mb in my gaming zone hooked to 8 consoles. works just fine.
Ah yes, it indeed is shitty. As the receiving window is rather slow. So I have been using a workaround for it by configuring the PS network via a proxy server (i.e. through my pc) and then connecting to PSN, believe me it work wonders (but just for downloading large files).
Haven't noticed this personally TBH. But then if I'm downloading something 20 or 50GB big I start D/L and put the device on Rest Mode.

You're probably still not getting full speeds and that still isn't a workaround for everyone.
Its easier to notice in Pakistan though because PS4 shuts off when the electricity goes out, even in rest mode. My PC and TV both remain on without any interruption connected to the UPS. PS4 however craps out. So downloading any game or huge patch on the PS4 is a major hassle.

And if you are worried about load shedding corrupting your download files (never happened with me so far) you can try a software with which you can get links of the files off the PSN server and put it on download on your PC and then later on transfer it to the PS4 the software is called PSX downloader or something. I used to download games on my PS3 with this method, the downloads are faster and you are safe from file corruption as well.
A quick google search came up with this, you have to be connected on the same network, I guess you can figure out the rest.

The update also allows for some customisation of the notifications interface, letting you turn off message previews in pop-ups, disable them entirely while watching a movie, changing the colour of the notification and more.For PlayStation VR owners, the headset now supports 5.1 and 7.1 channels in virtual surround through headphones while watching Blu-rays in Cinematic Mode.
Finally, the update made some changes to the Quick Menu, adding more options that don’t require leaving the game to use.
According to M0dus, they implemented some back-end changes to accommodate future updates. Hoping OS-level downsampling is one of them.
