Will be used mainly for watching sports, lil bit gaming 360, PS3, PC(only on weekends).

3DTVs usually feature faster, more responsive panels (in other words, less ghosting, no judder during fast moving scenes), so I would still recommend that you get one even if you don't intend on ever watching 3D content.
If you can wait until August/September, I would recommend that you go for the new Sony HX750 or the HX850, depending on your budget. The HX850 offers superior image quality/motion resolution (ideal for watching sports shows), while the HX750 is better for gaming. Both are available in 40 and 46 inches.
If you can't wait until August, then get the Samsung D8000 LCD. As far as sports shows go, it's currently the best in the market. If not the D8000, then get the D7000.
Don't consider getting a Plasma if you're planning on hooking up the TV to your PC.
P.S. Anynet+ is Samsung's term for HDMI-CEC, which is available on nearly every HDTV these days.

Wait for the samsung e8000 series to get a bit cheaper... i know voice input is a pretty much gimmicky feature but samsung has promised that the e8000 series will get all updates which can be downloaded through the net which will come in their tvs for the next 4 years so u wud be pretty much futureproof that way... plus e8000 also offers a slight edge in picture quality over the d8000... if budget is tight then u cud also consider the e7500....
If budget is not an issue at all and u want the lcd wali brightness and plasma wala contrast with crystal clear noiseless picture u can buy the 9000 series samsung oled beast 55 incher... it will set u back 9k dollars though

3D HDTVs are obviously better, but to be honest I don't think they are worth the extra amount if you don't plan on using 3D feature.
Samsung seems to have dropped their prices considerably and for people looking to buy a 40" 1080p LED TV without 3D, I can't think of any reason (except only 2 HDMI ports) for not considering Samsung 40EH5000 for Rs.51,490/-

Well im waiting for the avengers bluray that wud be nice... tron ka bhi 3d acha hai... plus sammy's adventure ka kafi fit hai and yeah avatar ka bhi sahi hai... hugo kay start kay effects fit hain... and ya uc3 ka fit hai once u adjust the depth and r able to eliminate crosstalk

32inch is way way too smal for 3d in my opinion... will have to sit like 3 feet away to get a decent amount of immersion into 3d and from that distance its gonna be a crosstalk nightmare

Lego Batman 2 in 3D is excellent on PC. Those with 3DTVs must give it a try. Its almost better than Trine 2 and that means something!
Note: Don't buy XBOX360 or PS3 version of the game, instead only buy PC version because it works quite well with Nvidia's 3DTV Play plus PC has better textures.

Don't believe the popular myth that passive 3D's vertical resolution is halved. I can easily identify 540p vs. 1080p so you have to see it to believe it. I think LM5800 is a later model so it must be as good or even better than LW4500 series.
If you want to use it as your PC's monitor then 32" is big enough.

You really need to try Max Payne 3! Amazing bullet-time effects realized in 3D. You can actually see each individual bullet flying across the screen. Highly recommended to everyone with a decent gaming PC.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
