League of Legends is a game for casual players, not hardcore ones. Just a heads up.

^^ LOL is pretty hardcore. Losing Gold while dying adn denying are not the only thing that makes you a hardcore. Good LOL players are better or same as DOTA or HON. My ID is faraany3k in LOL.

I've played LoL extensively, me and my friends were 1800+ ELO before we quit (I personally peaked at 1876). I have also played HoN quite a fair bit, and I assure you, the latter is a way, way harder game. Dota, even though I have barely ever played it, seems to be the hardest of the lot.

You seem affronted by my assessment of LoL, and I didn't mean it as such. It is what it is. Its a decent game, and its competitive to some extent (I'd say at 1900-2000+ ELO), but its by no means "hardcore".

There are a plethora of reasons why HoN and Dota are harder. The two reasons you have mentioned, denying and gold loss on death, indeed play a role in this. You'd be surprised how a couple of untimely deaths can set you massively behind and make the entire game a struggle.

As for your claim that good LoL players are better or the same as Dota or HoN, there is established evidence to the contrary. One of HoNs top players, who goes by the ID "chu", decided to try LoL. Guess what? In less than two months, he was ranked no.1 on the NA ladder, which is considered the harder region. Thats right, he was ahead of every single LoL player on the planet in a matter of two months. Contrary to this, Hotshotgg, who is considered one of the top LoL players in the world, has played HoN in the past. His ranking? A mere 1600, which puts him in the 50th percentile only.

Furthermore perusing the LoL boards will reveal almost all LoL players agree its the easier game.

Again, I don't mean to insult you, particularly since I have played and enjoyed both games. However your assessments are completely off the mark. Sorry.

Chu used to get his ass kicked in dota though :p That said he was one of the best micro players in dota, his meepo used to be sick

Denying is PRO, it means that you just can't wait for creep health to get low and just last hit you have to OUTPLAY your opponent to get the creep. This is why a PRO will dominate a lane, he'll just outfarm the shit out of the other player.
