Hi,
I'm a web developer. I was thinking of developing a pcpartpicker like website specially for pakistan. It will select parts from websites like czone,homeshopping,... and also provide lowest price. Please provide your suggestions and comments

I say go for it. It's kind of hassle work for me to pick parts from different sources, compare the prices in Pakistan and few other things. It would be very convenient for us.

I can volunteer if you need my help in areas such as content writing, social media or SEO. Although I've a limited time but I can still help you out.

I really appreciate your help. I have started the development. I will need help in sorting out some items because most of time these website move or change names and my scraper stops working. I will let you know when i build the admin panel then you can work from there. I will also need help with SEO.
And any suggestions for domain? i prefer .pk

Must add homeshopping as well, btw, will you need database access for every website?

currently, i will scrap data. Yea homeshopping and czone are the first one i will scrap. Later on, if homeshopping agrees, we will contact them for database.

Can I ask what do you mean by 'scrap data'?. And yea, why wont they agree, after all it is them who will get a platform to compete, best if it works out.

The problem is the lack of pricing on most websites and pricing that is not final. i.e. calculations are done at websites.

That being said, this sounds like an ambitious project.

There are a couple of local websites doing this, but very poorly.

Go for it, just make sure you make money from it because a scrapper site wouldn't last long on a small/cheap server.

yea, I'm sure we will be able to convince websites to provide database when this site get popular. Until then i will reply on volunteers including myself to sort out data.

My plan is to add every website selling computer components there is. But one step at a time. Currently we will work on homeshopping and czone. I will really need some community help to sort out data. I will let y'all know when admin panel is done!

what?

If you're scrapping, you don't even need their permission.

It's not illegal and by providing their content on your website you're actually doing them a favor.

Just keep the scrapping to ONE time every 24 hours so they won't block you out.

I meant for homeshopping, czone e.t.c itself provide us required data. Because scraping isn't that easy. Some pages require manual scraping, so it takes some time.

It's easy.

Its already been done by multiple websites.

Not sure why you want to contact them for info.

Well if you visit their website you will see how they title their items. For example "ASUS 210-1GD3-L" now i will manually need to add tag that its an nvidia card and its actual model name is GT 210. So yeah, for this website i will need to sort out data. Other websites don't have any problem since they just display data as it is. I need to add complex search so that my website searches for all GT 210 and returns the cheapest one available in stock. Since "ASUS 210-1GD3-L" doesn't contains the keyword GT 210 so it will not appear in search.

Nearly all of them are using generic names of some sort so a well written algorithm should take care of that.

I had this idea a while ago. Didn't have any idea how to make such a service.

Good luck. And I suggest getting a .com domain, better looking, cheaper, better SEO, more professional. Scraping is gonna be a menace specialty if the site gets popular and the websites don't allow access to their databases, since some might not be providing the lowest prices. Just my two cents.

Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
