PC Overheating

So last night i was watching a movie and my computer suddenly shutdown when i turn it on again it was beeping and gave me a message that cpu was shut down due to thermal event press enter to start i pressed it but it again shut down i gave up and went to bed this morning i again tried now its ON but temps are high i am using "core temp" here are screenshots of before and after opening of google chrome.

so what to do? is it thermal paste i remember i did it few years ago now i dont know how to apply anyways is it thermal paste?

1. Open Case -> Turn on PC -> See if all fans esp. CPU cooler fan is turning and if you have a discrete GPU check its fans as well

2. Check for dust built up esp. around the fins of CPU cooler and exhaust, intake vents. Ditto for GPU

3. If #1 and #2 check out, then the likely culprit is the thermal compound. If #1 and #2, take PC outside or in a room with good ventilation and either use a can of compressed air or blower to clean PC. Recheck

1. Check to see if the heatsink is properly seated (see if it wiggles when you move it)
2. Replace your thermal paste. If you don't know how to do it, go to a local PC shop near you and tell them to replace the paste they will just charge 100-150 max
