PakGamers user CyberWolf recently launched a shopping search engine Pakistanistores.com , which covers more than half a million products. The website maintains the stock and price of each product, also, it filters out the products that are coming soon, discounted, out of stock or discontinued. The whole point of this website it to give you the price on which you can actually order the product, unlike most websites which uses Amazon prices and just covert the dollar price to PKR.
It was launched this website 3 months ago and the response from gaming/tech community is great, almost 70% of the queries are for computer related stuff. The most searched term is “GTX 1060”, no wonder, the card is really a beauty. He developed an in-house algorithms for search, these algorithms include spelling error correction, price suggestions, and classification. An example would be, if you search dell laptop, it will show you laptops from Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 60,000 on the first page because that’s the most preferred price range in Pakistan.
Another case would be if you search iPhone 7, it will automatically filter out covers and accessories, so you get less cluttered results in search. The search results are getting better with each update.
The algorithms are still in development, but they are already showing promising results. For products which are not available in Pakistan, it will give you less than preferred results, because our search solely rely on the websites which sell these products.

What’s next?
Since we already have updated prices of each product, we might develop something like Build my Pc in Pakistan, or we can make a prediction algorithm based on price trends. We are also looking forward to build a notification system, which will notify you whenever there is prices will drop.
