'overclocking anomaly'

hi....i'm running an E5200 @ 3.2 on an Asus P5gc mx/1333 (281 x 11.5)


now, stability is not the issue here...i can even be stable at 301 x 12, but anything over 281 x 11.5, be it the

FSB OR Multplier, my in built Atheros Lan gives way...it's like it's not there =/....i don't really need a 3.6ghz, but

a 300FSB gives me a score of 14100 on '3d Mark06' and well, i kinda like that =$


Now i understand that my board IS crappy but any way around it..or something I'm doing wrong..or what?

what ram speeds ur getting
try to run ur rams at 1:1
they will run at 667mhz but im getting 4ghz out of my e5200 with these settings!!!
try ur luck!!!
also tell me what other bios functions r there!!!
how many voltage options r there!!!
i mean how many voltages u can change!!!

yeah check with ur ram timings...and the voltage of the core.
talk to @Voodoo in the regard..

it culd be PCI Frequency set to [Auto] causing this
increasing bus speed can sometimes increase PCI Frequency aswell
try manually setting it to 101 or 102

first of all no voltage options on this board. And i'm sure the e5200 can touch 4 but...i have a very lame ass board =P

and as for the ram, i had it on auto, but the ratio was 3:4, not 1:1...i'll check back on the speed [[ around 400 ]]

The pci frequency, well...i have a pci latency timer set to 64 by default....i get 32, 64, 92, 128 and so on.

but lemme experiment with the ram a bit and i'll get back to you..much thanks =]

ok so, 1:1..that is FSB at 301 with RAM at 301..the issue remains =/
