I have an old i7 processor (intel 950 3.07 overclocked to 3.3) current temp varies from 48-60 ...i was wondering how much could i overclock on stock fan cooler?............(I have an antec casing with 8 massive fans but they dont do much for processor i guess)

also please suggest some cheap cooler for this processor (1366 socket) + (asus Sabertooth x58 mother board)

It's a matter of trial and error. You can try pushing the BCLK in 5 MHz increments and then monitor the temperatures. As a matter of fact, the stock cooler isn't that good and the 45nm generate more heat as compared to the 32nm and 22nm processors. The cheapest cooler would be the Hyper 212+, if you can find one in used that would be good. It's also very important to have a good power supply when overclocking.

Bro i have intel stock cooler which comes with extreme series it comes with blue led i pulled it out from i7 975 extreme and it is massive then ordinary stock cooler if u r interested then google it i also make a thread check it out its performance is also very good but if u like any other cheap cpu cooler then hyper 212 is best option
