I was speaking of those who don't gain from ps plus benefits. Those who share accounts with a subscriber aren't the ones who don't care about online gaming lol.
The only caveat now being that you pulled up the sharing figures from you know where :hah:

The only reason I occasionally play online with some friends on PC is exactly because it's free.
But you still haven't proved how XBL Gold became my favourite subscription

So paying $1.6 a month for access to 2 ps4 games is a scam. I never realized how much I liked scams. Please tell me how I can scam other services in this manner :hah:
You like playing random mediocre games more often than not so i'm afraid that's your only option

Anecdotal evidence, but every ps plus subscriber I know account shares. So, the point is that it's not 36.2 Million people who gain from ps plus benefits. Neither you nor I know the exact figure, but it's safe to say it's higher than 36.2 Million.

But you still haven't proved how XBL Gold became my favourite subscription
I called Game Pass your favorite subscription. I mentioned xbl gold because adding up the total number of subscribers with game pass subscribers still wouldn't compare favorably with ps plus. You should use some of your logic and calculate the total number of pc gamers + xbox gamers, and then find the percentage that is subscribed to game pass :hah:

You like playing random mediocre games more often than not so i'm afraid that's your only option
A random mediocre game is still worth more than $0.83. At $20 a year, I'm getting insane value for money from ps plus.

A quick glance at this list shows many excellent games with few caveats :hah:

Neither you nor I know the exact figure
Which is why the only relevant numbers are what Sony officially releases and thats the one I quoted. Not your anecdotal data.

I called Game Pass your favorite subscription.
You should use your own logic and wait til I am actually subscribed to it continuously for a good part of a decade to call it my "fav subscription". To this day, I have spent less on Game Pass than you (yes your carefully curated price, not official $60) have on 1 month of PS+ :hah:

A quick glance at this list shows many games with an 80+ average on OC i.e. excellent games with a few caveats :hah:
Well there is your problem. You are too afraid to actually at the full data and instead choose to quickly glance at it :hah:

2017
90 and up: 1

80 to 89: 14

70 to 79: 36

60 to 69: 16

59 and below: 7

2018

90 and up: 3

80 to 89: 16

70 to 79: 17

60 to 69: 26

59 and below: 14
~80% of games rated below 80 in 2017
~75% of games rated below 80 in 2018

Thats alot of caveats lol. Who knows, if you weren't scammed into buying Wolfenstein: Young Blood at launch, it could have likely been a hot contender to end up in your "freebies" years later

That's just the number of people who paid for ps plus. It was a financial stat after all. The fact that account sharing exists means more people benefit from it.

Wow, I get over 15 80+ games each year for just $0.83 each. Even the 70 - 79 games are a steal at that price. Sign me up! Oh wait, I'm already signed up :hah:

If only Sony actually gave you games you care about playing more (and end up paying for them lol) rather than throwing mediocrity you dont care about in your plate 75-80% of the time. Maybe staying signed up would teach them a lesson

They can't cater to everyone each month. Does your favorite game pass add games each month that everyone cares about?

rather than throwing mediocrity you dont care about in your plate 75-80% of the time.
2017

90 and up: 1 (excellent value at $0.83 per game)

80 to 89: 14 (great value at $0.83 per game)

70 to 79: 36 (good value at $0.83 per game)

60 to 69: 16

59 and below: 7

Games with good or higher value = 51
Total games offered in 2018 = 74

%age of good or higher value = 68.9%

2018

90 and up: 3 (excellent value at $0.83 per game)

80 to 89: 16 (great value at $0.83 per game)

Where exactly are we getting this "75-80% of the time" range from? :hah:

You keep calling it that as if Ive been a permanent subscriber ever since it launched

But what good was this rental to a permanent subscriber like yourself? A game that you ended up buying 1 year 5 months later after launch and barely even played it. But now you're counting your blessings that its a "freebie" over 2 years after it launched

What good are these categories if you are going to prioritize games like Wolfenstein Young Blood at launch?

Well, you know, there's always the rare ps plus game or two each year that I already own. Not really an issue in the grand scheme of things.

A game that you ended up buying 1 year 5 months later after launch and barely even played it.
Because I already played it on ps3 lol. This is essentially a remaster, and it's the VR support that was patched in later on that got me to buy it. I wouldn't say I barely played it, just that I didn't play it outside of VR.

What good are these categories if you are going to prioritize games like Wolfenstein Young Blood at launch?
I also prioritized a "really good game all around" at launch over Days Gone thanks to such high praise from you. What good did that do me?

Well I don't know about you but I got my "dexes" worth of fun out of it. You choosing to spend money on it is entirely your own fault. Then again, someone who is a permanent subscriber to PS+ can't be expected to make sound judgements

Riiight because gaining access to 2 games at $0.83 each, ~50% or more of which are of good or higher value, isn't a sound judgement
Its laughable actually lol
Average age of games released on PS+ in 2018 was 3.2 years old

You might have been able to play Rage 2 and Wolfenstein Young Blood for "free" several years later. I'm sure you would've found them "good value" then. Hence, poor judgement on your part :hah:

a) not all games are put up on ps plus 3 years later. You take extreme values and automatically assume they're the norm
b) even if they're put up 3 years later, they cost a decent amount of money (even when they're on sale, they cost much more than a $0.83 "rental")

As for the lack of permanent ownership, if it's a single player only game, I won't touch it after beating it (unless it's a classic or something). And if it's an online game, I'll require ps plus to play it anyway, so sound judgement indeed lol.

I said "average" though lol
The lowest on average in a month in 2018 was 1.74 years old. The highest was 4.75 years old.

That calculation's a little inaccurate, though. You're essentially taking the month with the lowest and highest respective averages, and calculating a global average using it while disregarding all the other months, which may be closer to the lowest average (or to the higher average).

I'd have calculated it based on a summation of the release-to-ps plus duration (in years) for all ps4 game offered on ps plus in 2018. It doesn't seem like it's 3.2 years.

Each month's average over 12 months still comes out to exactly 3.2 years in this case.

All games you actually care about playing, you likely bought them near launch yourself.

At best, I can think of this as a somewhat okay value only for someone who doesn't have much of a preference of their own in selecting games and relies solely on the rentals to fill out their gaming sessions.

An average of 2.22 release-to-ps plus duration. A whole year less than what you calculated. Now tell me how you calculated what you calcuated

At best, I can think of this as a somewhat okay value only for someone who doesn't have much of a preference of their own in selecting games and relies solely on the rentals to fill out their gaming sessions.
Preferences don't work like that for a lot of people, including myself. There are games I'm interested in getting at launch, and there are games I'm interested in but would rather wait on a good sale for. There are more of the latter than there are of the former. Ps plus often gives me access to such games. Deus Ex Mankind Divided, RIME, 2064: Read Only Memories, Psycho Pass, and XCOM 2 from the 2018 list, for example.

By not conveniently leaving out games to twist the numbers

And even after your selective calculation, you are getting games on average over 2 years laters

But your wallet goes outta control during Steam sales, which are also dictated by a "surprise machine"
