PC Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

Anyone 'acquired' this yet? I've just played three campaign missions and it looks rather tasty. Requires a brain and some tactical nous though - far different from COD4's "lets just run through people like mentalists" approach.

Im on the 3rd mission myself and yes this game's far from run-and-gun. Some level of thinking is required, which is why its a military sim.

Im on the 3rd mission myself and yes this game's far from run-and-gun. Some level of thinking is required, which is why its a military sim.

My bad. Didn't see it on the front page and was too lazy to go further back. Have you tried playing it online yet? I doubt for those with cracked versions it's going to be of much use except when playing co-op...

Also, how exactly can I change my weapon loadout a the beginning of a mission? I wanna go snipa'..

Right Shift gets you the artillery/air strike. Just choose your location and then it offers a multitude of options like whether you want the artillery barrage to be scattered and all

I don't think you can change weapons though. When you're being briefed for a mission you can check your squad and all, but I don't think you can change weapons or rather change you want to play as - mostly because a sniper can't be a squad leader I guess?

u can change from the people u killed....i think its a bad point that u can't change ur weapon b4 the start of the mission just as in ghost recon.

Yeah thats what I do, exchange weapons with the sniper once he dies.

Is it graphically good?
I mean Gameplay is important and all but... a game with bad graphics aint gonna satisfy me.

yar..do always go for graphics...to tell u the truth i didn't like the crysis...bcoz crytek just work on the EYECANDY graphics...and the gameplay...pfuuuu......gameplay in ofp is good but very hard....

You can pick up different weapons if you're near an ammo dump or something. You can usually see the ammo dumps where the SAM sites or other such places are. Just go upto the boxes and you'll see the glove cursor appear. Just press 'E' (or whatever is your interaction button) and a menu will pop up with all the contents of the boxes. Use your mouse then and whatever you select will be added to your inventory. You can also use your keyboard, but when you select something you want, press ENTER. Press 'E' again will close the popup.

^ Yeah but those ammo dumps usually have ammo only inside. I was actually looking to change my weapon load to Sniper or MG. Assault weapons are the sucketh.

the game is amazingly realistic, good solid graphics. nothing in it for those who liked fast paced fps. m on level 2..

i am on 3rd mission or i guess 4th where you have to defend the beachhead and damn it is so hard, the enemies are crawling from all directions and i am yet to complete it.....

Btw although textures and vegitation is not the best out there but still lighting system is excellent and hdr effects are very very good......and artillary strikes are out of this world, i have seen artillary strikes that you can actually use for the first time in any fps game......excellent stuff.....sound effects are the best to date.....

I would love to play on coop too but don't know what time you guys game at, i usually game at very late night or u can say early morning i.e. around 4 am

han yar tell me one thing, can we order only one man instead of ordering the whole team??

Visuals aren't bad at all IMO.

This game will frustrate the hell out of you. You'll die a gazillion times in each mission, although Ive kept my death rate to 26 The trick is to ALWAYS take the enemy out from a distance. Get close and you're gone. Fireteam's quite useless at times, Ive been doing almost all the killing in the game. What I really like is the feel of the weapons, pretty good right?

Yes you can select individual team members. Press M for the map, and use the mouse to select which team member you want to select from the top left corner, it'll highlight in yellow. The commands you give using the Q command menu will then apply to only the selected team member.
