I was just wondering... What sorta connection do i need to play online? Games like CoD and CS

I know about the Micronet CoD servers for example.
When i ping the following IP, what values should i get? (optimal)

58.65.171.54

256k will be enough, but get 512k for max performance... u should get at least 50ms latency

256k will lack smtime but 512k will be more than Enuf Not just for COD4 and Cs but from every aspect. Are you gettin the connection just for gaming or other purposes as well like if u r into downloading than i must say 1Mb will also not seem enuff like i m a download freak use to download Movies, Tv shows, Anime, softwares and games.

Well i live in Wah. The only DSL here is LDN.
Other than that, there at Wifi networks.
The one I am using gives me a speed of 1.4mbps at night. But the ping is always high.

LDN doesnt have a very good rep. now does it?

Right now, im getting a ping of 337ms to 58.65.171.54

So that's bad right? (tell me what are you getting)

Oh and a ping of 10ms to Google.com

(i'm double posting because if i dont, this will get lost in the first post. I want to hear your comments about the google ping)

Yeah 337 isnt that good. It is playable if it was some other game but not for first person shooters.

hmm..... FPS games require you to be quick, efficient and reflexable. Or else you can easily have a score of 0-14.

well 337 isn't good considering you live quite near the server. but just try playing it might actually turn out fine.
